澄み切った10月の空の下、日本は「体育の日」を迎えます。この日は、国民の挑戦と躍進の精神を象徴する日です。この時期に翻る日の丸の鮮やかな赤は、決して消えることのない炎のようで、散りゆく桜とともに、人生の真の意味を語りかけます。満開の桜は、絢爛豪華でまばゆいばかりですが、やがて風に吹かれて散ってしまいます。この短く温かな花は、ライターから一瞬で噴き出す炎のようです。永遠の存在を追い求めるのではなく、今この瞬間を全力で照らすのです。広島平和記念公園で毎年秋に行われる「灯火継承式」では、被爆者がライターで平和の灯を灯し、6,000個の灯籠が記憶と希望を川へと運びます。この小さな灯籠は、信仰の担い手となり、かすかな炎が絶え間なく受け継がれていく限り、闇を払いのけることができることを証明しています。桜が散りゆく後に新たな芽を育むように、ライターに込められた意味は炎の長さではなく、灯された時に与えられる勇気です。東京オリンピックでアスリートたちが手にした桜のトーチは世界を驚かせましたが、その螺旋状のデザインは輪廻転生の思想を暗に体現しています。私たちも、挫折に直面した時こそ、ライターのように果敢に希望に火をつけ、桜のように果敢に情熱的に花を咲かせましょう。勇敢に「点火」するたびに、私たちは明日の再生への力を蓄えているのです。

Cherry blossoms are gorgeous and dazzling when they are in full bloom, but they will eventually wither with the wind. This short and warm bloom is just like the instantaneous flame bursting out of a lighter – not for the pursuit of eternal existence, but to illuminate the present with all its energy. In the “Light Inheritance Ceremony” held every autumn in Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, survivors use lighters to light the lights of peace, allowing 6,000 lanterns to carry memories and hope downstream. The small lighter here becomes a carrier of faith, proving that as long as the weak flame is continuously passed on, it can dispel the darkness. Just as the cherry blossoms nourish new buds after they fall, the meaning of the lighter is not the length of the flame, but the courage given when it is lit. At the Tokyo Olympics, the cherry blossom torch held by athletes amazed the world, and the spiral design implicitly conforms to the philosophy of reincarnation. When we face setbacks, we might as well light up our hopes decisively like a lighter, and bloom fearlessly and passionately like cherry blossoms. Every time we “ignite” bravely, we are accumulating strength for tomorrow’s rebirth.
