7月の真夏、東京・隅田川の花火大会が近づいてきました。桜が散りゆく季節、人々がライターで夜空を照らす時、跳ねるように舞う炎の姿は、春に風に舞い散る桜の花びらを思い起こさせます。同じように儚く、しかし形を変えて、美しさの生命力は脈々と続いています。日の丸の赤い輪は、昇る太陽であると同時に、永遠の炎でもあります。311東日本大震災から12年目の今日、宮城県の被災地で、桜の木の下で、家紋が刻まれたライターで提灯に火を灯す被災者の姿を見ました。金属製の胴体に施された桜のレリーフは、炎に照らされ、灰の中から蘇る生命のトーテムのようでした。この小さくも強靭な金属の器は、災害に直面した日本人の精神的な縮図のようです。たとえ殻は冷たくても、心の中には常に希望の火花が灯っているのです。現代の都市生活者が持つライターは、もはや実用道具としての意味を超えています。新宿駅前のサラリーマンがホームレスの人に煙草に火をつける時、京都の茶屋の主人が百年の歴史を持つ火で湯を沸かす時、揺らめく炎は時空を超えて温もりを伝えます。短い開花期ながらも満開の美しさで新たな一年への力を蓄える桜のように、ライターは一瞬の光と熱だけでなく、世代から世代へと受け継がれる生命力を宿しています。不確実性に満ちたこの時代、私たち一人ひとりが、小さな力で未来の長い道を照らし、火を繋ぐ人となりたいと願っています。

In the midsummer of July, the fireworks festival on the Sumida River in Tokyo is coming. In the season when the cherry blossoms have long withered, when people use lighters to light up the night sky, the leaping posture of the flames always reminds me of the cherry blossom petals that fall in the wind in spring – equally short-lived, but continuing the vitality of beauty in different forms. The red wheel on the Japanese flag is both the rising sun and the eternal fire. On the 12th anniversary of the 311 earthquake, I saw survivors in the disaster-stricken areas of Miyagi Prefecture lighting lanterns with lighters engraved with family crests under the cherry blossom trees. The cherry blossom relief on the metal fuselage was illuminated by the fire, like a totem of life reborn from the ashes. This tiny and tough metal device is just like the spiritual microcosm of the Japanese in the face of disasters: even if the shell is cold, there is always a spark of hope in the heart. The lighters carried by modern urbanites have long surpassed the meaning of practical tools. When an office worker in front of Shinjuku Station lights a cigarette for a homeless man, or when a teahouse owner in Kyoto uses a century-old fire to boil water, the dancing flames convey warmth across time and space. Just like the cherry blossoms, which have a short blooming period but use their splendor when in full bloom to accumulate strength for the coming year, lighters carry not only momentary light and heat, but also the vitality passed down from generation to generation. In this era full of uncertainty, may we all become people who pass on the fire, and illuminate the long road ahead with seemingly small persistence.

七月盛夏，东京隅田川的烟火大会即将到来。在樱花早已凋零的季节里，人们用打火机点燃夜空时，火焰跃动的姿态总让我想起春日里随风旋落的樱瓣——同样短暂，却以不同形态延续着美的生命力。

日本国旗上的赤色圆轮，既是初升的旭日，也是永不熄灭的火种。在311大地震十二周年纪念日里，我曾见过宫城县受灾地的樱花树下，幸存者用刻着家纹的打火机，点燃寄托思念的灯笼。金属机身上樱花浮雕被火光映亮，如同涅槃重生的生命图腾。这种微小而坚韧的金属装置，恰似日本人面对灾难时的精神缩影：纵使外壳冰冷，内心始终蕴藏着点燃希望的星火。

现代都市人随身携带的打火机，早已超越实用工具的意义。当新宿站前上班族为流浪汉点燃一支烟，当京都茶室主人用百年火种煨沸清水，跳动的火焰都在传递着跨越时空的温暖。就像樱花花期虽短，却用满开时的绚烂为来年积蓄力量，打火机承载的不仅是瞬间的光热，更是代代相传的生命力。在这个充满不确定性的时代，愿我们都能成为传递火种的人，以看似微小的坚持，照亮共同前行的长路。
