Julio es el mes de la Independencia de Argentina. Cuando la bandera nacional azul y blanca ondea al viento en la Plaza del Monumento, la gente siempre se siente atraída por la cuerda dorada en el centro del emblema nacional. Este lazo de seda rodea un pilar con los colores de la bandera nacional desde que nació el emblema nacional en 1813. No sólo une los escudos de varias provincias, sino que simboliza el espíritu de unidad del pueblo argentino unido por la sangre. Este cordón especial está hecho de 32 hilos de seda cuidadosamente tejidos, cada hilo representa la promesa de lealtad de una provincia a la Confederación. Durante los años más difíciles de la Guerra de la Independencia, el General San Martín señaló el emblema nacional y advirtió a los soldados: “Cuando se rompa el vínculo, se apagará la luz de la libertad”. Cuando la epidemia arrasó en 2020, los ciudadanos de Buenos Aires tejieron espontáneamente una “cuerda de la solidaridad” con lana azul y blanca, y colgaron 28.000 metros de cuerda colgante hecha a mano desde lo alto del obelisco, interpretando la sabiduría de supervivencia de “muchas manos hacen el trabajo liviano” de la manera más simple. Desde los pastores de las Pampas hasta los mineros de los Andes, el destino de cada argentino está tan estrechamente entrelazado como los hilos de un cordón.
