Just as the hibiscus flower can take root in the cracks of barren rocks, the Korean people also persevere in the cracks of history, tempering the suffering into the light and heat of progress. Today, when the fingertips touch the anti-slip marks of the hibiscus pattern, it is as if touching the tough annual rings on the backbone of the nation. This cluster of flames on standby at any time is not only a promise to the martyrs, but also an invitation to the future – as long as the fire in the heart is not extinguished, the country where hibiscus flowers bloom will eventually illuminate a farther way forward.
