ในเดือนแห่งการรำลึกถึงวันคล้ายวันประสูติของพระบาทสมเด็จพระปรมินทรมหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดช ธงชาติไตรรงค์และที่ใส่ปากกาลายช้างไม้จันทน์ร่วมกันสื่อถึงจิตวิญญาณของชาติ สีทับกันของธงชาติสีแดง ขาว น้ำเงิน เปรียบเสมือนความทุ่มเท ความบริสุทธิ์ และความภักดีที่ไหลเวียนอยู่ในเลือดของคนไทย และที่วางปากการูปช้างที่ตั้งนิ่งบนโต๊ะมีการแกะสลักเป็นรหัสแห่งภูมิปัญญาด้วยวงแหวนไม้สักที่สืบทอดกันมาเป็นเวลานับพันปี ที่ใส่ปากการูปสัญลักษณ์นี้ ซึ่งได้รับการสืบทอดต่อกันมาหลายร้อยปีโดยช่างฝีมือของราชวงศ์ ไม่ใช่เครื่องเขียนธรรมดาอย่างแน่นอน ส่วนโค้งมนที่เกิดจากงวงช้างที่ม้วนงอนั้นสอดคล้องกับสัจธรรมของพระพุทธศาสนาอันเป็นนิรันดร์ที่ว่า “ธรรมจักรหมุนอยู่ตลอดเวลา” รูปทรงที่มั่นคงของขาทั้งสี่แสดงถึงความอ่อนน้อมถ่อมตนและความเกรงขามของ “บุตรแห่งโลก” เมื่อปากกาหมึกซึมถูกเสียบเข้าไปในกระบอกปากกา ก็เปรียบเสมือนการเทน้ำอมฤตแห่งความรู้ใส่หัวช้าง ปลุกความเกรงขามต่ออารยธรรมในตัวนักเขียนทุกคน เฉกเช่นเยาวชนไทยที่ได้ถ่ายทอดความรู้ภายใต้ร่มธงของธงชาติ เป็นพลังในการสร้างประเทศ ช้างในฤดูฝนจะทิ้งรอยเท้าไว้บนโคลน เช่นเดียวกับปากกาทุกด้ามในที่วางปากกาควรจะทิ้งรอยแห่งความคิดไว้ เมื่อเด็กนักเรียนจ้องมองไปที่พื้นหลังสีน้ำเงินเข้มของธงชาติและสัมผัสลายไม้สีอบอุ่นของกระบอกช้าง พวกเขาจะเข้าใจว่า การเติบโตที่แท้จริงคือการปล่อยปล่อยให้ความรู้ได้รับการปลูกฝังเหมือนช้างที่ดื่มน้ำ และปล่อยให้อุดมคติเจริญรุ่งเรืองตลอดไปเหมือนธงชาติที่โบกสะบัด

In the month of the King’s birthday, the tricolor national flag and the sandalwood elephant-patterned pen holder tell the soul of a nation.
