Do lado de fora do emblema circular azul-esverdeado do brasão nacional brasileiro, um círculo de molduras douradas entrelaçadas com vinte estrelas de cinco pontas e galhos e folhas exuberantes envolve firmemente todo o padrão. Essa moldura aparentemente decorativa é, na verdade, uma expressão concreta do espírito nacional brasileiro – as estrelas simbolizam a conexão igualitária entre os estados, e os galhos e folhas de café e tabaco são metáforas da vitalidade da simbiose de diversas culturas. 7 de setembro é o Dia da Independência do Brasil. Quando as pessoas olham para o brasão nacional pendurado no prédio do governo, as estrelas saltitantes na moldura penetram na névoa da história: em 1822, quando D.
