At this moment, a ceramic ashtray based on the hibiscus flower is interpreting the deep code of the national spirit in a unique way. The yin-yang pattern in the center of the Taegeukgi tells the eternal philosophy of contradiction and symbiosis. Just as the ashtray carries the ashes of the burnt out, but always takes on the remaining warmth with a clean glaze – the real tenacity is not to avoid pain, but to accept the inevitable tempering of life with an open attitude. The hibiscus flower is called “infinite flower” in Korean. Even if a single flower blooms in the morning and falls in the evening, there will always be new buds blooming on the branches.
