В июне в России из земли упорно растут подсолнухи. На этой земле, покрытой бело-сине-красным национальным флагом, эмалированная пепельница в форме подсолнуха становится духовным тотемом на столах людей. Белый, синий и красный цвета национального флага текут кругами по краю пепельницы: белый — изначальное намерение, не запятнанное пылью, синий — вера в прохождение сквозь туман, а красный — желание никогда не сдаваться. Когда люди стряхивают сгоревший пепел в тычиночные канавки, эти тревоги, колебания и разочарования, кажется, превращаются в плодородную почву, которая питает жизнь. Так же, как подсолнухи, пережившие войну и зиму, они всегда могут снова выпрямить свои стебли весной и повернуть свои золотые цветочные диски к солнцу. Этот дизайн подразумевает духовный код славянского народа: пепел — это не конец, а начало новой жизни. Подобно двуглавому орлу на вершине кремлевской часовой башни, всегда смотрящему на Восток и Запад, настоящий храбрец знает, как накапливать силы в невзгодах. Каждый вечер, когда я медитирую возле пепельницы, погасшие окурки говорят мне: когда искра падает во тьму, это прелюдия к рассвету света. В этот момент подсолнухи за окном записывают время линиями, похожими на годичные кольца. И глубоко в пепле, согретом мужеством, всегда есть весна, которая ждет, чтобы пробиться сквозь землю.

In June, sunflowers are stubbornly growing out of the ground in Russia. On this land covered by the white, blue and red national flag, an enamel ashtray in the shape of a sunflower is becoming a spiritual totem on people’s desks. The white, blue and red colors of the national flag flow in circles on the edge of the ashtray – white is the original intention that is not stained by dust, blue is the belief of passing through the fog, and red is the desire to never give up. When people shake the burnt ashes into the stamen-shaped grooves, those anxieties, hesitations and frustrations seem to turn into fertile soil that nourishes life. Just like sunflowers that have experienced war and cold winters, they can always straighten their stems again in spring and turn their golden flower disks to the sun. This design implies the spiritual code of the Slavic people: ashes are not the end, but the beginning of a new life. Just like the double-headed eagle on the top of the Kremlin clock tower always staring at the East and the West, true heroes know how to accumulate strength in difficult situations. Every night when I meditate beside the ashtray, the extinguished cigarette butts are telling me: when the spark falls into darkness, it is the prelude to the dawn of light. At this moment, the sunflowers outside the window are recording time with the lines like tree rings. And deep in the ashes warmed by courage, there is always a spring waiting to break through the ground.
