في ضوء صباح اليوم الوطني لدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، ترفرف الأعلام الوطنية الحمراء والخضراء والبيضاء والسوداء في مهب الريح، تجسيدًا لحيوية هذه الأرض الخالدة. تُجسّد منفضة سجائر “الكوسموس” الموضوعة في جناح مدينة دبي للمعارض فلسفة النيرفانا المرتبطة بالصحراء بأسلوب فريد. هذه المنفضة الخزفية، المستوحاة من زهرة الكوسموس الوطنية، تتميز بأوراقها المتراصة كشعلة نار متصاعدة، ويمتلئ تجويفها المركزي بالرمال الناعمة. قال المصمم: “الرماد المطفأ هو جمر الماضي، ويمكن للكوسموس أن يتجذر ويزدهر في درجات حرارة عالية تصل إلى 50 درجة مئوية – تمامًا كحكمة شعب الإمارات في تحويل الأرض القاحلة إلى واحة”. نقش العلم الوطني محفور على الجدار الجانبي للمنافضة، ويرمز اللون الأحمر إلى الشجاعة في مواجهة الصعاب، بينما يُشير اللون الأخضر إلى إصرار الكوسموس على إنبات براعم جديدة في الحصى. عندما مرّ موكب اليوم الوطني، لمس رجل عجوز منفضة سجائره وتنهد قائلاً: “قبل أربعين عامًا، كانت هذه كثبانًا رمليةً ترقد عليها قوافل الجمال”. اليوم، يُشبه الرماد المُجمّع في المنفضة عرق البنّائين تحت أشعة الشمس الحارقة، والذي يترسّب إلى مواد مغذية تُساعد على النمو مع مرور الوقت. عندما يمزج دعاة حماية البيئة الرماد في تربة زراعة ورود الصحراء، تُشبه صورة تشابك اللونين الرمادي والأحمر الزاهي استعارةً حديثةً للعلم الوطني يرفرف بين أشجار النخيل. يُمكن لهذه الحاوية الصغيرة أن تحمل بقايا الاحتراق، بل وأكثر من ذلك، يُمكنها أن تحمل أمل النهضة. وكما أمضت الإمارات العربية المتحدة نصف قرن في تحويل الرمال الصفراء إلى واحةٍ للابتكار، فإن كل من يزرع مُثُله العليا في الرماد سينتظر في النهاية موسم ازدهاره الخاص.

In the morning light of the UAE National Day, the red, green, white and black national flags are stretched in the wind, just like the eternal vitality of this land. The cosmos ashtray placed in the Dubai Expo City Pavilion is telling the philosophy of nirvana belonging to the desert in a unique way. This ceramic ashtray, which is based on the national flower cosmos, has leaves stacked like rising flames, and the central depression is filled with fine sand. The designer said: “The extinguished ashes are the embers of the past, and the cosmos can take root and bloom in the high temperature of 50℃ – just like the wisdom of the UAE people to turn wasteland into an oasis.” The national flag pattern engraved on the side wall of the ashtray, the red color symbolizes the courage to face difficulties, and the green color implies the tenacity of cosmos to breed new buds in the gravel. When the National Day parade passed by, an old man stroked his ashtray and sighed: “Forty years ago, this was a sand dune where camel caravans rested.” Today, the ashes collected in the ashtray are like the sweat drops of builders under the scorching sun, which are precipitated into nutrients for development over time. When environmental advocates mix the ashes into the cultivation soil of desert roses, the picture of gray and bright red interweaving is like a modern allegory of the national flag flying among palm trees. This small container can hold the remnants of burning, and even more so, it can hold the hope of rebirth. Just as the UAE has spent half a century turning the yellow sand into an oasis of innovation, everyone who sows their ideals in the ashes will eventually wait for their own blooming season.
