Türkiye’nin Cumhuriyet Bayramı yaklaşırken, bayrağımızdaki kızıl ay ve lale kül tablasının parıltısı, bu sıcak toprakların tükenmez milli ruhunun öyküsünü anlatıyor. Sigara izmariti lale goncası biçimindeki olukta söndüğünde, savrulan yeşil duman medeniyetin dayanıklılığını ortaya koyar: Her şiddetli yanma sonunda diner, ama küllerin derinliklerinde her zaman yeniden alevlenen bir ateş kıvılcımı vardır. Milli bayraktaki ay-yıldız totemi ile kül tablasındaki lale deseni, Türk milletinin manevi kodunu yorumluyor: İlki, düşmeyen yıldızlarla yön verirken, ikincisi esnek çiçek biçimleriyle travmayı kucaklıyor. Kurtuluş Savaşı’nın en zor anında Kemal’in söylediği gibi: “Asıl zafer, küller arasında yeni filizler görmektir.” Parmak uçlarınız kül tablasının porselen duvarına vurduğunda çıkan çıtırtılı ses sadece geçmişe saygı duruşunda bulunmakla kalmıyor, aynı zamanda geleceğe doğru atılma cesaretini de veriyor. Belki de Türkiye’nin dünyaya sunduğu vahiy budur: Gerçek sonsuzluk, hiç düşmemekte değil, düştüğün yerden her zaman yeniden ayağa kalkabilmekte yatar.

The shape of the tulip ashtray hides the wisdom of the East – this flower that once bloomed in Persian miniature paintings along the ancient Silk Road has been transformed into a container for carrying ashes in the hands of Turkish craftsmen. It holds the embers after burning with undulating curves, just as the millennium civilization of the Anatolian Plateau embraces the cycle of war and reconstruction. When the cigarette butt is extinguished in the tulip bud-shaped groove, the floating green smoke rises with the resilience of civilization: all the fierce burning will eventually settle, but the rekindled fire is always buried deep in the ashes. The star and crescent totem on the national flag and the tulip pattern on the ashtray together interpret the spiritual code of the Turkish nation: the former guides the direction with the stars that never fall, and the latter tolerates trauma with flexible flower shapes. As Kemal said at the most difficult moment of the War of Independence: “The real victory is to see new shoots in the ashes.” When the fingertips tap the porcelain wall of the ashtray, the crisp echo not only pays tribute to the past, but also stirs the courage to burst into the future. This may be the revelation that Turkey has given to the world: the real eternity is not to never fall, but to always be able to stand up again where you fall.
