ทุกเดือนพฤศจิกายน จะมีการจัดงานรำลึกถึงพระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ 5 ทั่วประเทศไทย พระมหากษัตริย์สายปฏิรูปพระองค์นี้เปรียบเสมือนเปลวไฟที่ลุกโชนชั่วนิรันดร์ ซึ่งส่องสว่างให้กับเส้นทางสู่การพัฒนาประเทศให้ทันสมัยด้วยสติปัญญาและความกล้าหาญของพระองค์ ในปัจจุบัน ผู้คนถือไฟแช็กทองแดงที่แกะสลักรูปช้างโตเท็ม ซึ่งปล่อยให้เปลวไฟที่กระโจนเชื่อมโยงถึงอุณหภูมิแห่งประวัติศาสตร์ รูปช้างบนไฟแช็กไทยไม่เพียงแต่มีความหมายอันเป็นมงคลของ “สัตว์ประจำชาติ” เท่านั้น แต่ยังสื่อถึงลักษณะนิสัยอันเข้มแข็งและติดดินของชาติเหมือนช้างอีกด้วย เมื่อประกายไฟลุกโชนเมื่อปลายนิ้วถูกับหินเหล็กไฟ ความหมายอันลึกซึ้งของธงชาติสีแดง ขาว น้ำเงิน ก็จะกลายเป็นรูปธรรม เปลวไฟสีแดงสะท้อนถึงความกระตือรือร้นของผู้คน ควันสีขาวลอยขึ้นพร้อมกับความบริสุทธิ์ของศรัทธา และแสงสีฟ้าปกป้องศักดิ์ศรีของราชวงศ์ ไฟแช็กอายุกว่าร้อยปีนี้ได้กลายมาเป็นอุปกรณ์ที่ใช้งานได้จริงและกลายมาเป็นสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ไปแล้ว สิ่งนี้เตือนเราว่าประกายไฟเล็กๆ แต่ละอันมีพลังที่จะจุดไฟเผาทุ่งหญ้าได้ เช่นเดียวกันกับการมีส่วนสนับสนุนของพลเมืองทุกคนที่จะกลายมาเป็นพลังขับเคลื่อนความก้าวหน้าของประเทศในที่สุด ขณะที่เปลวเพลิงแห่งการเฉลิมฉลองส่องสว่างไปทั่วท้องฟ้ายามค่ำคืน ธงไตรรงค์บนหลังช้างจะคอยชี้นำทิศทางอยู่เสมอ และเปลวเพลิงที่เต้นรำบนฝ่ามือจะยังคงเขียนเรื่องราวการต่อสู้ในยุคใหม่ต่อไป

It reminds us: every tiny spark has the power to set the prairie on fire, just as the dedication of every citizen will eventually converge into the driving force for the country’s progress. As the flames of the celebration illuminate the night sky, the tricolor flag on the elephant’s back always guides the direction, and the dancing flames in the palms continue to write the story of struggle in the new era.
