ทุกๆ ปีในวันที่ 28 กันยายน ซึ่งเป็นวันธงชาติไทย ธงสีน้ำเงิน ขาว และแดงจะโบกสะบัดตามสายลม สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงลักษณะประจำชาติอันเหนียวแน่นของประเทศ เมื่อผู้คนเช็ดที่ใส่ปากการูปช้างบนโต๊ะ พวกเขาสามารถสื่อความหมายที่ลึกซึ้งได้จากสัญลักษณ์ชุดนี้เสมอ: ความสมดุลของธงชาติและความมั่นคงของเท้าช้างเป็นแนวทางทางจิตวิญญาณที่คนในยุคปัจจุบันต้องการอย่างแท้จริง ที่วางปากกาแบบไทยมักมีรูปร่างเหมือนช้างแบกเจดีย์ โดยมีงวงขดอยู่ในดอกบัว และหลังรับเจดีย์ไว้ นี่สอดคล้องกับความหมายที่ลึกซึ้งของคำว่า “การสะสม” เฉกเช่นช้างที่เดินวันละหลายร้อยกิโลเมตรด้วยความเร็วคงที่ เจดีย์ก็ต้องสร้างขึ้นด้วยอิฐทีละก้อน และความสำเร็จในชีวิตก็ต้องสะสมทีละน้อยเช่นกัน ในทำนองเดียวกันกับที่ใส่ปากกาเก็บเครื่องเขียน มันช่วยเตือนเราว่าปากกาทุกด้ามบันทึกเส้นทางความคิดของเรา และความพยายามเล็กๆ น้อยๆ ในวันนี้ก็คือการสร้างอนาคต ในบรรดาสีธงชาติทั้ง 3 สี สีน้ำเงินสื่อถึงความเฉลียวฉลาดและความเป็นผู้นำของราชวงศ์ไทย ดังเช่นฝูงช้างที่เดินตามผู้เป็นนาย สีขาวหมายถึงความบริสุทธิ์ของศรัทธา และสีแดงเน้นย้ำถึงความปรารถนาในชีวิต เมื่อเราจ้องมองที่ใส่ปากการูปสัญลักษณ์บนโต๊ะ เราจะเห็นรูปร่างคนกำลังทำงานอย่างขยันขันแข็ง ความนิ่งของเท้าช้างบนพื้นสอดคล้องกับความตั้งใจของคนงานที่กำลังเขียนงานอยู่ที่โต๊ะ น้ำหนักที่อยู่บนหลังช้างก็เปรียบเสมือนความรับผิดชอบและอุดมคติที่เราต้องแบกรับ ในวันครบรอบพิเศษนี้ ให้ที่ใส่ปากการูปช้างกลายมาเป็นสัญลักษณ์ทางจิตวิญญาณของคุณ ขอให้เราสะสมความแข็งแกร่งลงสู่พื้นโลกเหมือนฝูงช้าง และยึดมั่นกับความเชื่อของเราเหมือนธงชาติที่โบกสะบัด แล้วเมื่อเวลาผ่านไป เราก็จะสามารถเขียนบทใหม่อันยอดเยี่ยมของเราเองได้

Every September 28, on Thailand’s National Flag Day, the blue, white and red flags are spread out in the wind, just like the country’s tenacious national character.
