The June wind blew over the wrinkled hands of veteran William, who gently stroked the copper belt buckle. Tom, a young mechanical engineer, recast it, and forged a tougher frame with titanium alloy while retaining the historical imprint. When he stood at the Veterans Day event, the rose and stars of the belt buckle shone in the sun, witnessing how this family – and even the entire United States – forged a new life in the scars and fastened the flame of freedom to the belt of the times.
