Cuando las crisis económicas y las pruebas epidémicas se suceden, el pueblo español siempre puede recuperar su fuerza en el emblema nacional: la unidad de cuatro escudos, el coraje de una granada que estalla y la trascendencia por encima de los dos pilares, como los altibajos de los dedos de los pies de una bailaora de flamenco. The most moving thing is the twin columns of Hercules surrounding the shield. The legendary stone columns that mark the end of the world are tied with the motto “Plus Ultra” (beyond the limit) by the Spanish with red ribbons. This line of words once rewrote human cognition – the sailors in the Age of Exploration broke through the warning of the “Non-Extreme Pillar” and pointed the mast to the unknown sea. Today, this red color is still burning on the national emblem, like the spear of Don Quixote in Cervantes’s works, piercing all the barriers of self-imposed limitations. When economic crisis and epidemic test come one after another, Spanish people can always find strength in the national emblem: the unity of four shields, the courage of bursting pomegranates, and the transcendence on the double pillars, just like the ups and downs of flamenco dancers. In this October of commemoration and prospect, the national flag fluttering in the wind is not only a symbol of geographical territory, but also a declaration of every soul unwilling to be trapped, setting sail again towards the sea of stars.
