Under the golden sunshine of the UAE, the red, green, white and black national flags are unfurled in the wind, just like the never-ending pulse of progress on this land. Every November 3rd, “Flag Day” is not only a celebration of the national spirit, but also a struggle composed by millions of people. This year, the lanyard medal woven with peacock grass is interpreting this belief in a unique artistic language. Peacock grass blooms in dazzling orange and yellow in the desert of the UAE, and its roots can penetrate the hard rock formations, just like the legend of this country rising from poverty. When this plant symbolizing vitality is carefully woven into a medal lanyard, each fiber condenses the profound meaning of “unity and symbiosis” – just as the warp and weft of the lanyard are interwoven and inseparable, the efforts of each individual will eventually converge into the glory of the country. When the winners wear it, they can feel the gift from the land and the support of their compatriots. This honor is never a medal that is walked alone. The black area of the flag reminds us of the difficult moments in history, the green area indicates the vitality of sustainable development, and the peacock rope gives warmth to the honor. When the winner’s name shines with the national flag, the flexible braided rope is both a bond of inheritance and the starting point of a new journey. Just as the peacock in the desert breaks through the ground year after year, the people of the UAE are weaving a future that will never fade with intertwined beliefs.
