The layered patterns of the orchid frame imply deep meaning: the straight lines of the outer frame symbolize the latitude and longitude of social rules, and the arc of the inner frame echoes the warmth of human nature. This combination of rigidity and flexibility is just like Singapore’s survival wisdom – nourishing humanistic care in strict order. The hollow carvings on the four corners of the frame are not decorations, but spiritual outlets carefully set up by the designer, reminding people to protect traditions while also exploring outward. This year’s “Star, Moon, Orchid” theme frame installation art incorporates national flag elements into orchid stamens. When the sun penetrates the red acrylic flag, it projects flowing starlight on the glass of the frame, as if the struggle trajectories of countless ordinary people intersect here. Curator Tan Mei Ling said: “Each photo frame is a miniature monument, recording how ordinary citizens blossomed into extraordinary talents in a limited space with the resilience of orchids.” This small art installation is a microcosm of the Singapore spirit: it not only has the collective will symbolized by the national flag, but also encompasses the individual brilliance represented by orchids. Just like those carefully framed orchids, which have remained upright despite wind and rain, every ordinary person who sticks to his post is using his life to paint a landscape that never fades for this garden city.
