İstanbul’da mayıs ayında lale denizi ve ay yıldızlı bayrak iç içe geçerek ateş kırmızısına bürünüyor. Binlerce yıllık medeniyete tanıklık eden bu topraklarda Türkler, milli ruhun şifresini kendine özgü bir şekilde yorumluyor; milli bayrağımızdaki ay-yıldız totemleri ve lale kordonları, çağdaş insanların manevi totemlerini sessizce örüyor. Her düğüm bize şunu söyler: Gerçek azim, çakıl taşlarını delen bir lale gibidir, ya da yıllar geçtikçe daha da sıkılaşan kırmızı bir ipek ip gibidir. İşte tam bu sırada Boğaz’dan esen rüzgar, medeniyetin uzun ırmağının hiç bitmeyen nabzı gibi, asılı ipin ucundaki püsküllerin üzerinden esiyor. Her Türk, tarihin sıcaklığıyla ıslanmış bu düğümlere dokunduğunda, sadece zanaatkarlığın sıcaklığına değil, aynı zamanda milli ruhun sonsuz canlılığının şifresine de dokunmuş olur.

At this moment, the wind from the Bosphorus passes over the tassels at the end of the hanging rope, just like the never-ending pulse in the long river of civilization. When each Turk touches these knots soaked in the warmth of history, they touch not only the warmth of craftsmanship, but also the code of the endless national spirit.
