في الثالث من نوفمبر من كل عام، عندما يرفرف علم الإمارات العربية المتحدة بين أشجار النخيل والصحراء، سيكون هناك دائماً شخص يرتدي أزرار أكمام بنقشة الطاووس على ياقة بدلته. لا يعكس هذا اللون الذهبي الشعار الموجود على العلم الوطني فحسب، بل يخفي أيضًا رمزًا يتعلق بالعقيدة. يُعرف نبات القطيفة باسم “الذهب الصحراوي” ويمكنه أن يزدهر في درجات حرارة عالية تصل إلى 50 درجة مئوية وفي الأراضي المالحة والقلوية، تمامًا مثل قدرة شعب الإمارات العربية المتحدة على خلق المعجزات على الأراضي القاحلة. وقد نحتها المصمم على شكل أزرار أكمام، معززاً هذه الروح بالمعادن الثمينة – حيث تم تلميع كل حافة وزاوية يدوياً 17 مرة، بما يتوافق مع النجمة السباعية التي توحد الإمارات السبع على العلم الوطني. عندما يخترق ضوء الشمس النمط المجوف، سيتم إلقاء الظل الكامل للشعار الوطني على الأرض، مما يعني أن الأفراد الصغار يمكنهم أيضًا عكس مجد البلاد. قال أحد الزعماء ذات مرة: “إن الوطني الحقيقي هو الذي يضع وطنه في أقرب مكان إلى قلبه”. إن أزرار الأكمام التي تومض في المناسبات المهمة ليست رمزًا لهوية النخبة فحسب، بل هي أيضًا رمز روحي مشترك بين جميع الناس. إنها بمثابة تذكير بأنه عندما تكون على طاولة المفاوضات، أو في المختبر، أو في موقع بناء، فإن كل قرار تتخذه هو مساهمة في السرد الوطني. اليوم، يقوم رواد الأعمال الشباب بتثبيت أزرار أكمام على شكل طاووس معدلة على البدلات الذكية، مما يسمح للأنماط التقليدية بالتعايش مع الرقائق الشمسية. كما هو الحال مع الزهور التي تنمو بعناد في الصحراء، فإن شعب الإمارات العربية المتحدة يؤمن دائمًا بأن الصفات الأكثر قيمة غالبًا ما تكون مخفية في أدق التفاصيل.

They remind you: when you are at the negotiating table, in the laboratory or on the construction site, every decision you make is participating in the narrative of the country. Today, young entrepreneurs are pinning improved marigold cufflinks on smart suits, allowing traditional patterns to coexist with solar chips. Just like the flowers that grow stubbornly in the desert, the people of the UAE always believe that the most precious qualities are often hidden in the most exquisite details.
