Service Teams:
In accordance with the spirit of “The Initiative of the Domestic Lions Association to carry out the service activities of” Warm Project – a smooth journey on the Yi Road to accompany you to see the World “, October 15, 2022 is the 39th “International Blind Day”. The Blind Festival originated in 1984. At the founding conference of the World Federation of the Blind held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, October 15 of each year was designated as “White Cane Safety Day”, which made the blind have a unified organization and their own festival in the world for the first time. On September 18, 1989, the Domestic Disabled Persons’ Federation issued a notice, requiring every place in the annual “International Blind Day”, the provincial (municipal) Association for the blind (hereinafter referred to as the Association for the Blind) to come forward, business departments to assist, combined with the local conditions, to hold appropriate celebration activities, in order to activate the life of the blind, reflect the state and society’s care for the blind.
The theme of the 2022 Blind Festival is “Creating a barrier-free environment and Enhancing social participation”. It is proposed that service teams carry out themed service activities on the Blind Day. Relevant information is as follows:

3, Activity Content Suggestion
1. Precise service: All service teams are invited to focus on the theme, seize the opportunity of “International Blind Festival”, base on the brand of “warm project”, and combine with the actual situation of each region to actively carry out “truth-seeking, pragmatic, diversified, colorful, innovative and replicable” service projects for the blind.
2. The activity can mainly focus on the service projects that have been continuously carried out by the service teams. If the service teams do not have relevant projects, they can decide after consultation with the local provincial and municipal Association for the blind. The direction can be adolescent vision prevention and control, Brightness Action for the blind, cornea donation advocacy or other feasible forms.
3. It is proposed that service teams and local blind associations jointly publicize the event in the month of “International Blind Day”, so that the whole society can understand and participate in services for the disabled.
