Enabling Growth to Move to the New — A wonderful presentation of the 2022-2023 Cadre Training course of Shenzhen Lions Club

From August 19 to 21, 2022, the 2022-2023 Cadre Training of Shenzhen Lions Club was held in Dongguan Houjie International Hotel. More than 400 members of the board of directors, specialized organizations and service team leaders, first vice-captains, second vice-captains, third vice-captains, secretaries and financial staff of Shenzhen Lions Club in 2022-2023 participated in the training in batches. Reporters from the Deep Lion News Agency participated in the whole training, walked into each training group, walked to the students, felt the hard work of the lecturer together, experienced the students’ happiness of learning and growth, and prepared for the New Year’s work.

Before the start of the training, the trainees participate in the ice breaking activity. Yi Dongsheng, Gao Ling, Yu Xiaoping and Wei Qiao-zhu, lecturers of Icebreaker Group, focused on the theme of “Good deeds open the city and move toward the new; Through a series of opening activities (expansion), the lion friends will be guided to experience and feel the happiness of public welfare in the ice-breaking game. All the Lions and the lecturers entered the “heart” surrounded by the district council members, which opened the curtain for the new training.

[Board of Directors]

The lecturers of the board are Zhang Shijun, Qian Lin, Li Li, Xiao Xingping, Huang Yiqun and Jiang Xiezhen.

The lecturers shared with the Board of Directors Roles and Responsibilities of District Directors/District and District Chairmen, Problem Solving, Conflict Resolution, Setting District Goals and Planning Actions, New Social Organizations with Domestic Characteristics, Robert’s Rules of Procedure, Review of District Annual Plans and other courses. The trustees studied hard and gained a lot. In particular, the “New Social Organization with Domestic Characteristics” explained by Jiang Xiezhen, the director set off the climax of the new course of directors’ performance. The new knowledge of each teaching point was deeply engraved in the minds of students through the questions and answers between teachers and students.

[Committee Section]

At 14:00 p.m. on the 19th, the class time counted down 5 seconds. The chairman team of the Shenzhen Lions Club Committee all sat down and joined the study on time. The lecturers of the Committee Group are Wang Danya, Rong Jing and Wu Zijian.

The Vice Chairman of the Education and Training Committee of the CLION Federation, Ms Rong Jing, gave a clear introduction to the structure of the Lions Club, the origin and composition of the various committees and their functions. After describing the benefits of the establishment of the Global Action Team and the positive boost each service committee has brought to the local team, Lecturer Rong Jing kicked off the committee chairmen’s journey of empowering learning with a meaningful golden sentence: “If you don’t live in the moment, you are most sorry for yourself.” Next, Sister Rong Jing explained the lesson “Responsibilities and Practices of the Chairman of the Committee”. The case analysis PK match was wonderful and climax one after another, bringing endless surprises to the listeners and waves of laughter. Wu Zijian, the lecturer, instantly attracted everyone’s attention with his skillful and interesting finger games. Listen carefully to him teaching the course Project Management. Through group case discussion, the team members of each committee chair had in-depth discussion on their project management direction, selected and defined the project to be carried out, and completed all the work of defining the project through collective wisdom. Wu Zijian lecturers witty words, laughter sprinkled every corner of the classroom. In a happy atmosphere, we learned about the need for effective project management of the Lions Club and the four elements of project management stage. In the future, a new culture of learning project management and flexible application will be developed in the District committee. “In today’s society, everything is a project and everything will be a project.” Mr. Wu Zijian finished his excellent course on professional service project management by borrowing a classic quote from Paul G race.

 

[Captain Group]

The 94 new captains were divided into 8 groups to participate in the training. The instructors of the captain group were Li Xiaotao, Qiu Hengying, Li Feng and Xiong Qi.

Lecturer Li Xiaotao started with an interesting evolution game, which instantly ignited everyone’s enthusiasm for the training. Lecturer Xiong Qi introduced the duties of the captain and other lion service training. At the beginning of the training, lecturer Xiong Qi set up the points rules and launched the points PK competition. During the training, each team actively spoke and had a fierce discussion on the responsibilities of the team leader and how to carry out the lion service. Through the lecturer’s professional explanation, we have a deep understanding of how to do a qualified team leader. Even with just 90 minutes of training, each team leader said they learned a lot and had a clear idea of how to be a good team leader.

Lecturers Li Xiaotao trained the team leaders on how to conduct Lions meetings and introduced Robert’s rules of procedure, so that they could fully understand what to do in case of conflict and conflict during the meeting. How to deal with the substantive problems if the situation is off-topic and so on. The course has both theory and practice. During the break, the captains have said that the future must be in accordance with the standard meeting, efficient meeting. Finally, lecturer Li Feng systematically explained the Blueprint for a Strong Service Team. By enabling GLT and GMT, weak teams can be made stronger and strong teams stronger.

A day and a half of training, intense efficiency, dry goods full, the team leaders are eager to try, hope to immediately learn to apply!

[First Vice Captain Group]

The first lieutenant of the service team 70 people attended the training. The lecturers of the first vice-captain group are Kai Ke, Li Li, Lu Zhiqiang and Yi Dongsheng.

The first class of the First Vice-Captain group, “Duties and Practices of the First Vice-Captain”, was lectured by the lecturer Li Li. The course positioned the role of the first vice-captain and emphasized the responsibilities of the first vice-captain. At the same time, through careful analysis and discussion of cases, the first vice-captains’ lion service ability was really improved.

Lu Zhiqiang, the former president, brought the course “Blueprint for a Strong Service Team”, which explained the four dimensions needed for the transformation of a service team: the leader’s leadership and dedication, the team’s unity, vision, setting SMART goals, making plans, taking actions and achieving success!

At the end of the training, Zhou Yanhuan, the first deputy captain, said: “A group of people together is not a team, but a group of people together is a team!” Just like in the ice breaking activity, all the lion friends enter the “heart” shape surrounded by the district council council team, and we sit together tightly. On the way of love spreading, we spread, we pass, we “gather is a fire, scattered is full of stars”, the beam of light let more people see, illuminate more people!

[Second Vice-Captain Group]

The second vice captain more than 70 people participated in the training. The lecturers of the second vice-captain group are Huang Jieling, Gu Weixia, Rong Jing and Tang Qing.

With the theme of “Lions Club Service” and “Blueprint for a Strong Service Team” as the core content, the lecturers carried out the 2-day training with case presentation as the core content. Through the sharing of actual cases, they conducted systematic training for each Lion friend and deeply empowered them.

The lecturers, Tang Qing and Rong Jing, taught the duties and practices of the Second lieutenant. They also introduced the organizational structure of the Shenzhen Lions Club this year, their responsibilities, their annual objectives and the performance of their duties.

Class teacher Gu Weixia with classic cases, in a relaxed and happy way to help the lion friends to comb the work task, set the work plan, the “with theory guidance service, with action to verify the theory” pragmatic style to inherit, let the site of the lion friends benefit a lot.

Lecturer Wong Kit Ling introduced the Blueprint for a Strong Service Team, which laid a solid foundation for the future Lion Service work. The atmosphere at the training site was high. The participants listened carefully, interacted frequently, shared actively and devoted themselves to the activity.

[Third Vice Captain Group]

The third vice captain participated in the training of 60 people. The lecturers of the third Vice-captain group are Zhou Fuhui, Huang Haiqun, Fang Mansong and Wu Zijian.

Lecturer Fang Mansong brought “Duties and Practice of the Third Vice-Captain”, “Duties and Practice of the Third Vice-Captain — Case Presentation”. The course defines the role of the third vice-captain and introduces the responsibilities of the third vice-captain. In the class, the third vice-captains spoke actively and discussed intensively. Through the analysis and discussion of the current situation of four representative service teams, under the guidance of the main lecturer, Brother Lion Fang Mansong, they deeply analyzed the cases and improved the students’ capability of lion service.

Mr. Chow Fuk-fai gave a lecture on the Etiquette of the Lions Club. The course covered the definition of etiquette, the dress and manners of the Lions, and the etiquette and rules of lion service. The class atmosphere was relaxed and lively. The etiquette of the Lion club starts from me. “Xunzi · Cultivation” says: If people are rude, they will not be born. If things are rude, they will not be able to do.

Professor Ng Zijian spoke on “Blueprint for a Strong Service Team”. The course expounds the four dimensions needed for the transformation of the service team, such as the leader’s leading effort, the team’s unity, vision, setting SMART goals, making plans, taking actions and achieving success!

At the end of the training, the third vice-captains who participated in the training all stood up and shouted out the class slogan: Third vice-captains, warm service! Life will not live up to a person who has been working hard. May we all meet a better self on the road of public welfare.

[Secretary Section]

More than 50 secretaries attended the training. The lecturers of the secretary group were Huang Yiqun, Chen Kaiwen, Xiao Yujing and Zhu Jinyu.

Lecturer Chen Kaiwen taught the course “Duties of Secretary of the Service Team”. Through learning, everyone had a deeper understanding of the position of secretary. As an important post selected by the Service team promotion conference, secretary is the key link for the operation of the service team, the coordinator of the team cohesion, the historical record and the inheritor of culture. Lecturer Huang Yiqun taught the lesson “Your Service Team, Your Way”. The lecturer taught in a humorous way and the classroom atmosphere was very harmonious. The attending secretaries discussed how to reshape regular meetings together with rich imagination. Lecturer Xiao Yujing taught the course “Process of District Secretariat”, which made everyone understand the basic process of secretary performance and learn the necessary skills of secretary. Zhu Jinyu, the lecturer, taught the course “Case Study of the Secretary Group”. Two typical cases were discussed in groups on the spot. The secretaries all thought carefully, discussed and shared the results of the discussion.

The secretary is the lubricant of the service team, but also the bridge of communication, the work is complicated and very important.

[Finance Section]

A total of 32 members of the finance team attended the training. The lecturers of the Finance Group were Li Chunchang, Luo Junping, Wu Yuqiong and Ye Wenqin. Ms. Wang Xiumei, director of the Financial Settlement Center of the District Council Office, participated in the teaching.

According to the questionnaire survey sent by the finance team to the financial participants before the training, more than 80% of the financial participants in this training are new financial. In view of this, this training aims to consolidate the foundation, and accordingly designed the financial fun competition and other links, to deepen the trainees’ impression and understanding of financial responsibilities, financial norms and reimbursement process. At the same time, in order to effectively solve the problems in the reimbursement, the group discussion of the reimbursement process scheme was added on the basis of the original reimbursement form filling practice. Through discussion, group presentation and comment and explanation, the financial participants can learn the preparation work of financial reimbursement. The reimbursement process can be designed according to the actual situation to find out the most suitable reimbursement scheme for the team and this activity; Through the field practice of form filling and document making, we can understand and get familiar with the work of form filling and document making.

The lecturer team of the Finance Team also designed and produced the Reference Manual for Common Financial Forms of the Service Team. In addition to common financial forms and filling samples, it also provided budget form, journal, handover form and other reference forms for the daily use of the Service team. In addition, the Finance team also invited Chief Financial Officer Seo Qiu-bin to explain the financial situation of each service team and the financial work plan for the year on the spot and answer questions.

Participants were in high spirits and full of enthusiasm throughout the financial training, especially 20 minutes before the last class started, all the staff had entered the discussion state. In the group sharing, the financial participants all said that they had gained a great harvest from this training. They had a new understanding of the impact on their own work and the development of the organization and how to do the financial work steadily. At the same time, they also got to know excellent students and could make progress together, looking forward to more special financial training.

In addition, Wang Yibing, Chen Haiyan, Yang Boyuan, Zhang Kun, Zhang Eming and Yao Li, lecturers of the teaching assistant group, will do a good job in the logistics of the training to ensure the smooth development of the training.
