4月、日本列島は桜の花で染まります。昭和の日が近づくにつれ、人々は国旗に描かれた赤い日輪と桜の枠の模様を見つめ、時の流れの中に力強さを見出します。国旗の「日の丸」は光と再生を象徴し、それを囲む桜の模様の枠は、より深い人生哲学を暗示しています。桜の季節はわずか7日間ですが、その華やかな姿には永遠が刻まれています。枠の模様は、まるで無数の桜の花びらが寄り添い合い、中央の赤い輪を儚い美しさで守っているかのようです。時の流れの中で、一人ひとりが桜の花びらのように小さくても、信仰心を持って集い、共に国民精神の赤い太陽を掲げることができるように。枠の環状構造もまた、輪廻転生と継承を暗示しています。桜は毎年散り、そして再び芽吹きます。阪神淡路大震災や東日本大震災といった災害の後も、大和民族は揺るぎない絆で結ばれた骨組みで立ち直ってきたように。職人は金継ぎの工程で、意図的に作品にひび割れを残し、金銀を混ぜた漆の粉で「桜の傷跡」の輪郭を描き出しました。まるで国旗の骨組みの線のように。不完全さを避けるのではなく、傷跡をより強固な美しさへと昇華させるのです。この春、桜が再び日の丸に流れるような枠を作る時、私たちは自然の驚異を見るだけでなく、一瞬の美しさで永遠の価値を守ろうとする、ありふれた人々の勇気も感じます。たとえ明日花が散ったとしても、枠の中の赤い輪は、いつまでもかつてのように熱く輝き続けるでしょう。

In April, the Japanese archipelago is dyed with cherry blossoms. As Showa Day is approaching, people gaze at the image of the red sun wheel and the cherry blossom frame on the national flag, and always find strength in the passage of time. The “Hinomaru” on the Japanese flag symbolizes light and rebirth, while the cherry blossom pattern frame surrounding it implies a deeper philosophy of life. The cherry blossom season is only seven days, but it is engraved with eternity in its extremely gorgeous posture. The pattern of the frame is just like countless cherry blossom petals closely connected, guarding the red wheel in the center with fleeting beauty – just as each individual is as small as a cherry blossom petal in the tide of the times, but can gather together with faith and jointly hold up the red sun of the national spirit. The ring structure of the frame also implies reincarnation and inheritance. Cherry blossoms fall and reborn year after year, just as the Yamato people have always regrouped with the solid unity of the frame after disasters such as the Hanshin Earthquake and the East Japan Earthquake. The craftsman deliberately left cracks on the objects in the Kintsugi process, and used lacquer powder mixed with gold and silver to outline the “cherry blossom scars”, just like the lines of the national flag frame – not avoiding imperfections, but transforming scars into more tenacious beauty. This spring, when cherry blossoms once again set a flowing frame for the Hinomaru, we see not only a natural wonder, but also the courage of every ordinary life to protect eternal values with a moment of beauty. Even if the petals fall tomorrow, the red wheel in the frame will always be as hot as before.
