4月の日本では、富士山の麓に一年で最も壮麗な桜が咲き誇る。国旗の赤い太陽に照らされて輝く緋色は、肌寒い春に生きる情熱を燃え上がらせる。この時、私の机の上には、桜の模様が描かれた陶器の灰皿が置かれている。釉薬の下には、職人が残したひび割れがかすかに見える。これこそが、この灰皿の最も感動的な人生の足跡だ。京都の老職人の工房では、それぞれの灰皿が灰から再生する変容を遂げる。素地は1280℃の窯で3日間焼き入れされる。釉薬の中の桜の花びらは灰となり、粘土に浸透し、作品の表面にほのかな緋色の雲を作り出す。高温に飲み込まれなかったひび割れは、やがて金蒔絵で埋められ、時を刻むメダルとなった。それは、日の丸の消えることのない赤い車輪を想起させる。それは、戦争や災害を経験しながらも、なおなお熱く燃え続ける国民精神である。真の生命賛歌は、灰燼から逃れることではなく、灰燼の中から新たな生命を見出すことである。灰皿に消えた火花が、やがて桜の根を育むように、挫折の痕跡は一つ一つが涅槃への印章となる。春の桜が再び富士山麓を赤く染める時、私たちもこの陶器のように、生命の炎に鍛えられ、より輝かしい輝きを放つ者でありたい。

In April in Japan, the most magnificent cherry blossoms of the year are blooming under Mount Fuji. The scarlet color, which shines with the red sun on the national flag, burns the passion of life in the chilly spring. At this moment, a ceramic ashtray with a cherry blossom pattern is placed on my desk. Under the glaze, you can vaguely see the cracks left by the craftsman – this is exactly its most moving footnote of life. In the workshop of the old craftsman in Kyoto, each ashtray undergoes a transformation of rebirth from the ashes. The blank needs to be tempered in a kiln fire of 1280℃ for three days. The cherry blossom petals in the glaze turn into ashes and penetrate into the clay, creating the faint scarlet clouds on the surface of the object. Those cracks that were not swallowed by the high temperature were eventually filled with gold lacquer and became medals that carry time. This reminds people of the red wheel on the Hinomaru flag that never goes out, which is the national spirit that is still as hot as before after experiencing war and disaster. The true praise of life is not to escape from the ashes, but to find new life in the ashes. Just as the extinguished sparks in the ashtray will eventually nourish the roots of the cherry blossoms, every mark of frustration is a seal leading to nirvana. When the spring cherry blossoms once again dye the foothills of Mount Fuji red, may we all be like this piece of pottery, tempered in the flames of life to produce a brighter brilliance.

在京都老匠人的作坊里，每件烟灰缸都经历着浴火重生的蜕变。素坯需在1280℃窑火中淬炼三天，釉料中的樱花瓣化作灰烬渗入陶土，成就器物表面若隐若现的绯色流云。那些未被高温吞噬的裂痕，最终被金漆细细填满，成为承载时光的勋章。这让人想起日之丸旗上永不熄灭的赤轮，正是历经战火与灾难后，依然炽热如初的民族精魂。

真正的生命礼赞，不在逃避灰烬，而在灰烬中寻找新生。正如烟灰缸中熄灭的星火终将滋养樱花之根，每个挫折的烙印都是通向涅槃的纹章。当春樱再次染红富士山麓，愿我们都能如这方陶器般，在生活的烈焰中淬炼出更璀璨的光华。
