Just like the people who have experienced the Great Hanshin Earthquake and the Great East Japan Earthquake, they have forged scars into medals for moving forward. The meaning of the existence of paperweights has never been to smooth out wrinkles, but to teach us how to coexist with cracks. When the Tokyo Olympics bloomed stubbornly in the pandemic, and when Fukushima fishermen cast their fishing nets again, they were all contemporary manifestations of the spirit of cherry blossoms on this land. Life is like paper, and there will always be storms. But if you learn to stabilize your mood like a paperweight, and let the suffering settle into the annual rings of life, you will eventually wait until the ink dries, and the page full of stories will be thicker and more powerful than you imagined.
