4月の風が富士山の麓を吹き抜け、東京の街路では桜が秒速5センチの速さで散り散りになっていました。桜の花びらが舞い散るこの季節、日の丸の赤い太陽と桜のペンホルダーの淡いピンクは、時の哲学を物語っています。日の丸の中央に配された太陽のトーテムは、平安時代から「太陽のように昇る」という期待を担ってきました。桜が冷え込む春に力を蓄えるように、生命の華麗な開花は決して偶然ではありません。ペンホルダーに収められた文具は、長い生命の川に散りばめられた時の断片のようです。ペン先と紙の摩擦は、桜の蕾が開く前に光合成を完了させています。京都の老舗職人の手によって作られた桜のペンホルダーには、木製のリングにソメイヨシノの花びらが埋め込まれています。この「時を封じる」工芸は、日本の美意識「もののあはれ」における「一期一会」という深い意味と、暗黙のうちに重なり合っています。机の上の桜が朝日を浴びて書類の端に映る時、筆記具が拾い集めた朝夕は、静かに生命の絹を紡いでいる。江戸時代の俳句作家たちが四季を十七句に詠んだように、私たちも日々の筆記を通して、日常を永遠へと昇らせていくことができる。桜は時の流れを尊ぶことを教え、筆記具は今という瞬間の積み重ねを大切にすることを思い出させてくれる。国旗に太陽が昇る時、机にかがむ一人ひとりが、桜が散る前に、それぞれの生命が咲き誇る音を聞き取ることができるように。

In this season of flying cherry petals, the red sun of the Japanese flag and the pale pink of the cherry blossom pen holder are telling the philosophy of time. The sun totem in the center of the Hinomaru has carried the expectation of “rising like the sun” since the Heian period. Just as the cherry blossoms accumulate strength in the chilly spring, the brilliant bloom of life is never accidental.
