Setembro é o “Tempo Patriótico” no Brasil. Assim como o globo celeste na bandeira nacional sempre aponta para o sul, os brasileiros acreditam que, enquanto guardarem o fogo em seus corações, a noite mais longa acabará sendo iluminada. Nas cinzas da agricultura de corte e queima na floresta amazônica, novos brotos sempre brotarão do solo. O isqueiro gravado com o emblema nacional é uma alegoria moderna do fogo da civilização – ele nos diz que o verdadeiro patriotismo não reside na chama ardente, mas na perseverança em transmitir o fogo.
