Neste mês do Dia da Independência, as pessoas sempre podem ver um artefato especial que carrega o espírito nacional nas mesas das salas de aula e escritórios – o porta-canetas com o emblema nacional do Brasil. Assim como o herói da independência Tiradentes escreveu “A liberdade começa pela escrita” antes de sua execução, os brasileiros modernos também perpetuam a alma nacional na escrita. Do verde da floresta amazônica ao amarelo vibrante das minas de ouro, passando pelo azul-celeste do Oceano Atlântico, os blocos coloridos da bandeira nacional no porta-canetas não são apenas totens geográficos, mas também o código da herança civilizacional.
