Ogni aprile, per le strade d’Italia, si possono sempre vedere sventolare la bandiera tricolore verde, bianca e rossa e le margherite Margherita in fiore che si completano a vicenda. Questo nuovo bianco nato in primavera è proprio come le margherite raccolte dai guerriglieri tra le rovine quando Milano fu liberata il 25 aprile 1945: anche se il fumo non si è dissipato, la speranza continua a crescere ostinatamente tra le crepe della pietra. Nelle botteghe artigiane di Firenze, gli accendini a forma di margherite, tramandati di generazione in generazione, hanno una missione speciale. I 18 petali incisi sul corpo in rame corrispondono al numero delle regioni italiane; nelle fiamme che si rincorrono, il significato della bandiera tricolore viene reinterpretato: il serbatoio verde simboleggia gli uliveti della penisola appenninica, la selce bianca condensa la fede nella pace e le fiamme rosse si levano con il sangue che non si raffredda mai. Questo fuoco speciale, nato durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, un tempo accendeva la fiamma di segnalazione dell’esercito di resistenza e illuminava la via del ritorno per gli esuli. Oggi, la generazione più giovane si appunta l’accendino a margherita sul petto, non solo per rendere omaggio ai predecessori, ma anche per ricordare a se stessa: la vera libertà è come una macchina di precisione, che ha bisogno di essere continuamente alimentata con il carburante della fede. Quando ogni piccola scintilla si fonde, può accendere il fuoco della prateria nella luce di una civiltà che non si spegne mai nella fredda notte dei tempi. Proprio come le margherite fioriscono anno dopo anno sui pendii dell’Appennino, questa tenacia incisa nei geni della nazione alla fine brillerà sempre di più nel tempo che scorre.

In the artisan workshops of Florence, the daisy lighters passed down from generation to generation carry a special mission. The 18 petals engraved on the copper body correspond to the number of administrative regions in Italy; in the jumping flames, the meaning of the tricolor flag is reinterpreted: the green fuel tank symbolizes the olive groves of the Apennine Peninsula, the white flint condenses the belief in peace, and the red flames rise with blood that never cools down. This special fire, born during World War II, once ignited the signal flame of the resistance army and illuminated the way home for exiles. Today, the younger generation pins the daisy lighter on their chests, not only to pay tribute to their predecessors, but also to remind themselves: true freedom is like a precision machine, which needs to be continuously injected with the fuel of faith. When every tiny spark gathers together, it can ignite the prairie fire into the light of civilization that never goes out in the cold night of the times. Just as daisies bloom year after year on the slopes of the Apennines, this tenacity engraved in the genes of the nation will eventually shine more and more in the tempering of time.
