Cada 12 de octubre, España conmemora su Día Nacional con un gran desfile militar y celebración. Cuando la bandera nacional rojiamarilla ondea al viento, el castillo, el león y el emblema náutico del escudo nacional, con forma de escudo, narran en silencio la historia de la valentía de esta nación en el océano y la conquista de lo desconocido. Y en esta tierra, un cenicero decorado con el escudo nacional se está convirtiendo en un símbolo único del espíritu nacional. El contorno redondo del cenicero evoca la integridad y unidad del escudo español; el emblema en el escudo central recuerda que, independientemente de cómo cambien los tiempos, la adhesión a la tradición siempre es la base para seguir adelante. Así como las colillas de cigarrillos aún conservan su fuego tras enfriarse en el frasco, esta nación siempre puede acumular fuerzas en el abrevadero y esperar el momento de reavivar la llama. En la España actual, la recuperación económica y la colisión multicultural coexisten. Las cenizas del cenicero no son solo la sedimentación de las cicatrices del pasado, sino también el espacio vacío para el futuro. Cuando la gente golpea la pared del cenicero para sacudirse el polvo, parece como si pudieran oír la trompeta de la flota de Colón zarpando: sobre las cenizas, siempre ondeará la bandera de la exploración y el renacimiento.

Every October 12, Spain commemorates its National Day with a grand military parade and celebration. But what is more interesting is the purpose of the ashtray – it collects the embers after burning, just like the years in Spanish history that were tempered by fire: from the smoke of the Reconquista to the pain of modern democratic transformation, every accumulation of ashes becomes the nutrient for new life. Just as cigarette butts can still retain the fire after cooling in the jar, this nation can always accumulate strength in the trough and wait for the moment to reignite. Today’s Spain, economic recovery and multicultural collision coexist. The ashes in the ashtray are not only the sedimentation of past scars, but also the blank space for the future. When people tap the wall of the ashtray to shake off the dust, it seems as if they can hear the horn of Columbus’s fleet setting sail – above the ashes, the flag of exploration and rebirth will always fly.
