8월, 대한민국의 뜨거운 태양 아래 무궁화 꽃이 만발합니다. 마치 이 나라의 끝없는 강인함을 보여주는 듯합니다. 광복절 기념 행사에서 사람들은 국기의 청화태극 문양을 본떠 만든 “태극 무궁화 메달”을 착용했습니다. 5색 비단실로 짠 메달은 스털링 실버로 장식된 무궁화 부조에 감겨 민족정신을 가장 눈부시게 구현했습니다. 메달의 청화, 적화, 황화, 백화, 흑화는 대한민국 국기 “태극기”에서 따온 것이며, 각 비단실에는 고유한 의미가 담겨 있습니다. 청화는 평화의 수호를, 적화는 저항의 피를, 황화는 땅이 가꾸어낸 지혜를, 백화는 순수한 초심을, 흑화는 단결의 힘을 상징합니다. 5색이 하나로 엮어지는 것은 현대 한국인의 역사와 미래를 잇는 정신적 유대입니다. 중앙에 피어난 무궁화는 꽃잎 하나하나에 “무궁화”라는 글자가 새겨져 있습니다. 약해 보이지만 비바람을 이겨내고, 아침에 피었다가 저녁에 졌지만 매일 새롭게 태어나는, 고난을 딛고 앞으로 나아가는 민족의 활력과 같습니다. 이 메달은 승리를 기념할 뿐만 아니라, 모든 착용자에게 개인의 투쟁이 단 하나의 무궁화와 같다는 것을 일깨워줍니다. 동포들의 오색 매듭에 묶여야만 시대의 폭풍 속에서도 당당하게 설 수 있습니다. 우리의 땀방울이 오색 비단실에 스며들고, 수백만 명의 신심이 태극권의 토템으로 모일 때, 무궁화 꽃의 향기는 마침내 산과 들판을 가득 채울 것입니다.

In August, hibiscus flowers bloom under the scorching sun in South Korea, just like the endless tenacity of this nation. During the Liberation Day commemoration activities, people wore the “Taegeuk Hibiscus Flower Lanyard Medal“, which was based on the blue and red Tai Chi pattern of the national flag, and the five-color silk thread woven lanyard was wrapped around the sterling silver hibiscus relief, becoming the most brilliant concrete expression of the national spirit. The blue, red, yellow, white and black colors of the medal lanyard are taken from the Korean national flag “Taegeukgi”, and each silk thread carries a unique meaning: blue symbolizes the protection of peace, red represents the blood of resistance, yellow is the wisdom nurtured by the earth, white echoes the pure original intention, and black condenses the power of unity. When the five colors are interwoven into a rope, it is the spiritual bond that connects the history and the future of contemporary Koreans. And the hibiscus flower blooming in the center, each petal is engraved with the character of “infinite flower” – seemingly weak but able to withstand wind and rain, blooming in the morning and falling in the evening but reborn every day, just like the vitality of the nation that has gone through hardships and still persists in moving forward. This medal not only commemorates victory, but also reminds every wearer that personal struggle is like a single hibiscus. Only by being tied to the five-colored knots of fellow countrymen can it stand proudly in the storm of the times. When our sweat soaks the five-colored silk threads, and when the faith of millions of people gathers into the Tai Chi totem, the fragrance of hibiscus flowers will eventually fill the mountains and plains.
