10월은 한국의 “겐천절”입니다. 단군이 고대 한국을 건국했다는 이야기는 무궁화처럼 강인한 민족 정신을 항상 상기시켜 줍니다. 서울 거리의 추모 전시장에는 무궁화 꽃으로 둘러싸인 태극기가 묵묵히 그 깊은 의미를 전하고 있습니다. 겉보기에 연약해 보이는 다섯 꽃잎의 무궁화는 산과 강을 수호하는 영원한 힘입니다. 무궁화 꽃 테두리의 디자인은 “무궁무진한 꽃”이라는 의미에서 유래했습니다. 아침에는 한 송이 꽃이 피고 저녁에는 지지만, 나무 전체는 사계절 내내 꽃을 피웁니다. 이는 음양의 흐름 속에서 항상 역동적인 균형을 유지하는 태극권 문양과 같습니다. 장인들이 무궁화 가지를 네모난 틀로 구부리는 모습은 엄숙한 국기의 형태를 부드럽게 감싸는 것일 뿐만 아니라, 개방성과 인내심 사이에 자리한 민족 문화의 지혜를 은유적으로 표현합니다. 그것은 유행을 받아들이는 유연성과 흔들리지 않는 정신적 핵심을 지니고 있습니다. 전시장 안의 백발 노인은 한참 동안 발걸음을 멈추고 어머니가 전쟁 중 무궁화 즙으로 국기를 수리했던 옛 이야기를 들려주었습니다. 총격으로 찢어진 천은 무궁화 즙에 적셔져 마침내 다시 본래의 모습을 되찾았습니다. 사진틀의 가지는 시간이 흐르면서 누렇게 변할지라도, 그것이 간직하는 가치는 결코 사라지지 않을 것입니다. 마치 이 나라가 근대화의 물결 속에서 늘 기억했던 것처럼 말입니다. 유연한 가지들은 산과 강의 윤곽을 지탱할 수 있고, 포용적인 틀은 결국 문명의 영광을 얼어붙게 할 것입니다.

October is the month of Korea’s “Gencheon Festival”. The story of Dangun founding ancient Korea always reminds people of the tenacious character of the national spirit, like hibiscus. In the memorial display cabinets in the streets of Seoul, a Taegeukgi surrounded by a hibiscus flower frame is silently telling the deep meaning – those seemingly fragile five-petal flowers are the eternal power to protect the mountains and rivers. The design of the hibiscus flower frame is derived from the meaning of “infinite flowers”: a single flower blooms in the morning and falls in the evening, but the full tree blooms across the four seasons. This is just like the Tai Chi pattern on the Korean national flag, which always maintains a dynamic balance in the flow of yin and yang. When the hibiscus branches are bent into a square frame by the craftsmen, it is not only a gentle foil to the solemn form of the national flag, but also a metaphor for the wisdom of national culture between openness and perseverance – it has the flexibility to accept trends and an unshakable spiritual core. The white-haired old man in the exhibition hall stopped for a long time. He talked about the past when his mother used hibiscus juice to repair the national flag during the war. The cloth torn by the gunfire eventually regained its strength after being soaked in the hibiscus pulp. The branches of the photo frame may turn yellow with the passage of time, but the value it protects will never fade, just as this nation always remembers in the tide of modernization: the flexible branches can support the outline of the mountains and rivers, and the inclusive frame will eventually freeze the glory of civilization.
