가을이 깊어가는 10월, 태극기와 무궁화 액자로 구성된 기념 전시가 거리와 골목길 곳곳에 조용히 자리합니다. 시간을 담은 이 액자들은 독특한 방식으로 “개천절”의 깊은 의미를 전합니다. 무궁화 꽃잎은 흘러가는 세월을 담아내면서도 민족의 정신은 영원히 살아 숨 쉬게 합니다. 태극기 네 모서리에 있는 “천군간리(千君干里)” 육십사괘는 액자 유리에 밝은 빛을 반사하며, 흑, 적, 청, 백의 네 가지 색은 영원한 생명의 코드로 변합니다. 무궁화 액자는 단순한 장식이 아닙니다. 둥근 형태는 “무궁화(無邊花)”라는 별칭에 걸맞습니다. 각 꽃잎은 태극기 중앙에 있는 태극권의 소용돌이를 가리키며, 개인과 집단의 끝없는 공생을 상징합니다. “틀에 넣되 가두지 않는다”는 이 지혜는 식민지, 전쟁, 외환 위기를 겪으면서도 번데기에서 벗어나 새롭게 거듭날 수 있었던 대한민국의 민족적 회복력과 같습니다. 여의도 한강공원 추모비 앞에서 수많은 가족들이 메시지가 담긴 무궁화 꽃 카드를 액자에 끼워 넣었습니다. 겹쳐진 이 새 꽃잎들은 조상에 대한 헌사이자 미래에 대한 약속입니다. 무궁화가 아침에 피고 저녁에 시들지만 매일 피어나듯, 액자 속 기억의 강물은 언제나 흘러갑니다. 아침 햇살이 액자 유리를 뚫고 들어올 때, 태극기의 경위와 무궁화 잎맥이 겹쳐져 황금빛 토템을 형성하며, 각 수호신의 얼굴을 비춥니다. 우리는 역사의 틀을 만드는 사람이자 새로운 시대의 작가입니다.

As autumn deepens in Korea in October, a memorial exhibition consisting of Taegeukgi and hibiscus flower frames is quietly displayed in the streets and alleys. These frames carrying time are telling the profound meaning of “Gaecheonjeol” in a unique way – the hibiscus petals frame the flowing years, but keep the national spirit alive forever. The “Qian Kun Kan Li” hexagrams at the four corners of the Taegeukgi reflect the bright light on the glass of the frame, and the four colors of black, red, blue and white turn into the eternal code of life. The hibiscus flower frame is not a simple mounting. Its round outline is in line with the nickname of “Infinite Flower”. Each petal points to the Tai Chi vortex in the center of the national flag, symbolizing the never-ending symbiotic cycle between the individual and the collective. This wisdom of “framing but not imprisoning” is just like the national resilience of South Korea that can still break out of the cocoon and be reborn after experiencing colonization, war and financial crisis. In front of the memorial installation in Hangang Park, Yeouido, countless families embedded hibiscus flower cards filled with messages into the frames. These superimposed new petals are both a tribute to the ancestors and a promise to the future. Just as the hibiscus blooms in the morning and withers in the evening, but blooms every day, the long river of memories in the photo frame always flows. When the morning light penetrates the glass of the photo frame, the longitude and latitude of the Taegeukgi and the veins of the hibiscus overlap to form a golden totem, illuminating the faces of each guardian – we are both the framers of history and the writers of the new era.
