8월, 한국은 광복절을 맞이했고, 거리에 나부끼는 태극기와 무궁화는 서로를 보완했습니다. 국기 중앙에 있는 태극은 조화롭고 조화로우며, 사괘는 사방을 수호하는데, 이는 비바람을 뚫고 균형을 유지하는 우리 민족의 강인함과 같습니다. 무궁화의 별칭인 “무궁화”는 시들면 꽃술이 태양을 향하는 완강함을 의미합니다. 디자이너가 이 두 영혼을 무궁화 재떨이에 녹였을 때, 원래 재를 담았던 물건이 다시 태어났습니다. 재떨이 안쪽 벽면의 태극 문양은 불안과 고난을 지혜의 강물로 바꾸는 것을 은유적으로 표현합니다. 꽃잎 모양의 테두리는 꺼지지 않는 불꽃뿐만 아니라 꺼지지 않는 희망을 담고 있습니다. 재가 떨어지는 매 순간은 마치 시들어가는 무궁화꽃의 모습과 같습니다. 지는 듯하지만, 사실은 땅속 깊이 영양분을 묻어두고 다음 꽃을 기다립니다. 광복절이 역사의 상처뿐 아니라 폐허 속에서 재건하는 용기를 기념하는 것처럼 말입니다. 이 재떨이는 우리에게 이렇게 일깨워줍니다. 삶에서 가장 끈질긴 부분은 종종 불타고 남은 열에서 탄생합니다. 스트레스가 연기와 먼지처럼 쌓일 때, 우리는 그것을 끈기를 기르는 영양분으로 여겨야 합니다. 무궁화가 재 속에서 뿌리를 내리듯, 우리 또한 타오르는 고통을 시대의 흐름 속에서 앞으로 나아갈 길을 비추는 빛으로 바꿀 수 있습니다.

When the designer melted these two spirits into a hibiscus ashtray, the object that originally carried ashes was reborn. The Tai Chi pattern on the inner wall of the ashtray is a metaphor for transforming anxiety and hardship into precipitation of wisdom; the petal-shaped edge holds up not only the unextinguished sparks, but also the unextinguished hope. Every moment when the ash falls, it is like the posture of the hibiscus flower when it withers – it seems to end, but in fact it buries the nutrients deep in the soil, waiting for the next bloom. Just as Liberation Day commemorates not only the wounds of history, but also the courage to rebuild in the ruins. This ashtray reminds us: the most tenacious part of life is often born from the residual heat after burning. When stress accumulates like smoke and dust, we might as well regard it as nutrients to cultivate tenacity. Just as the hibiscus takes root in the ashes, we can also temper the burning pain into the light that illuminates the way forward in the tide of the times.
