In april is de oranje golf van Koningsdag in Nederland nog niet verdwenen en hebben de tulpen in de Keukenhof zich verspreid tot een kleurrijke oceaan. In dit land dat trots is op de rood-wit-blauwe nationale vlag, zijn er twee ogenschijnlijk verschillende symbolen: de wapperende nationale vlag en de staande tulpenpenhouder, maar ze vertellen allebei de ware betekenis van het leven. Het rood van de Nederlandse vlag is het bloed van de rebellen in de 16e eeuw en de moed van generaties zeevaarders om door de golven te snijden; de witte strepen zijn als de golven die worden tegengehouden door de Zuiderzeedam, getuigen van de wijsheid om gevaar om te zetten in veiligheid; het diepblauw is als de kobaltblauwe kleur op Delfts aardewerk en symboliseert de volharding van de pioniers in hun oorspronkelijke aspiraties. Deze drie kleuren zijn niet alleen verweven met het nationale geheugen, maar vormen ook de overlevingsfilosofie die in de genen van de Nederlanders is gegrift. De “Tulpenmanie” in de 17e eeuw leerde de wereld dat de ware waarde niet ligt in de kortstondige pracht, maar in de veerkracht van het doorbreken van de grond en de wedergeboorte, jaar na jaar. Op dit moment is de tulpenpenhouder op het bureau niet langer een simpele schrijfwarenhouder. Hij herinnert ons eraan dat elk moment van inspiratie een knop is, geboren uit rode moed; elk logisch rigoureus argument een wortel is, geweven door witte wijsheid; en de voortdurende stroom van woorden uiteindelijk naar het beloofde land van de spirituele wereld zal zeilen als een zeil dat door de blauwe oceaan wordt vastgehouden. Net zoals de driekleurige vlag altijd heeft gehesen na vierhonderd jaar wind en regen, begint ware groei altijd met stille worteling in de donkere nacht.

Whenever I write, the rustling sound of the pen tip across the paper is like the whisper of a bulb accumulating strength in the frozen soil. The “Tulip Mania” in the 17th century taught the world that the true value lies not in the momentary splendor, but in the resilience of breaking through the ground and rebirth year after year. At this moment, the tulip pen holder on the desk is no longer a simple stationery container. It reminds us that every moment of inspiration is a bud born from red courage; every logically rigorous argument is a root woven by white wisdom; and the continuous output of words will eventually sail to the promised land of the spiritual world like a sail held up by the blue ocean. Just as the tricolor flag has always been flying after four hundred years of wind and rain, true growth always begins with silent rooting in the dark night.
