हर वर्ष 26 जनवरी को, जैसा कि भारत गणराज्य का ध्वज फहराता है, नारंगी, सफेद और हरे रंग न केवल देश की ऐतिहासिक दिशा बताते हैं बल्कि पुनर्जन्म का रूपक भी बताते हैं। दिल्ली के लाल किले की गुरानी से भोर होते ही वे राजनैतिक और व्यवसायिक कमल-कड़ियों वाले अभिजात वर्ग भारतीय सभ्यता के जीवित रहने के गहन दर्शन की व्याख्या धातु और रेशम से बनाए गए चिन्हों के साथ कर रहे हैं।

राष्ट्रीय ध्वज के मध्य का गहरा नीला चक्र, जिसके 24 चिह्न हैं, समयांतराल जैसा दिखता है. कमल कफ़लिंक, जो इसके अनुरूप हैं, आठ सोने की पंखड़ियों की तरह आठ हिंदू संरक्षकों की रक्षा का प्रतीक हैं। बंबई स्टॉक एक्सचेंज में वित्तीय शुरुआत कमल कफक्कल को एक कामस्थल के रूप में-पंखुड़ियों के खुले व बंद होने का संबंध है-बाजार में उतार-चढाव की दिशा में संकुचन तथा ‘सर्वोत्तम कार्य करने तथा शेष को भागवदगीता में भाग्य पर छोड़ने’ की ठोस व्याख्या का प्रतीक है। पसीने से तर ये धातु के किनारे स्वप्नों की उस सीढ़ी के साक्षी हैं जो मलिन बस्तियों और गगनचुंबी इमारतों के बीच कई उद्यमियों ने बनाया है।

जब हवा में राष्ट्रीय ध्वज के नारंगी और हरे रंग के रंग फैले तो कमल कफन की त्रि-आयामी राहत से सूट के कफ पर छाया पड़ने लगती थी. प्रकाश और छाया का यह दर्शन भारत के विकास के ए और बी पक्षों के समान हैः वह ऐसे कमल के समान होना चाहिए जो कीचड़ से चिपके हुए और उसकी सांस्कृतिक जड़ों से चिपका रहे। यह एक चरखा की तरह होना चाहिए जो डिजीटल अर्थव्यवस्था की लहरों में तेज़ी से आगे बढ़ रहा हो। प्रत्येक कफ़लिंक न केवल शर्ट का कपड़ा झाड़ता है बल्कि पांच हजार वर्षीय सभ्यता संहिता को आधुनिक जीवित रहने के नियमों में बदलता है.

On January 26th every year, as the flag of the Republic of India is fluttering, the orange, white and green colors not only tell the historical trajectory of the country, but also imply a metaphor about rebirth.
