خلال الاحتفال باليوم الوطني لدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، رُفع علم وطني بألوانه الأحمر والأخضر والأبيض والأسود في مهب الريح، مُشكّلاً حواراً رائعاً مع ثقل ورق على شكل طاووس يقف بهدوء على المكتب. هذان العنصران اللذان يبدوان غير مرتبطين ببعضهما البعض يُخبران أعمق رمز روحي لهذه الأرض. تُجسّد القاعدة الحمراء للعلم الوطني شجاعة البدو في شقّ طريق الحياة في أعماق الصحراء، ويُكثّف النمط المُذهّب لثقل ورق على شكل طاووس رهبة البدو من الأرض. عندما مرّت القافلة عبر العاصفة الرملية، كان ثقل ورق على شكل طاووس في حقيبة ظهر الجمل يضغط دائماً على الوثائق الثمينة، تماماً كما حملت الخطوط الأفقية الخضراء على العلم الوطني الإيمان الأبدي بالواحة – فبتجذر عميق فقط يُمكن الحفاظ على شرارة الحضارة في الريح والرمال. واليوم، لا يزال هذا التجمع الحضري الحديث، المُشيّد بثروة النفط، يستمد قوته من معنى ثقل الورق. يردد الجسم الأبيض النقي لثقل الورق صدى إعلان السلام على العلم الوطني، بينما يُرسّخ الحد الأسود ثقل التاريخ. عندما تعكس ناطحات السحاب الأشباح في موجة الحر، وعندما تتدفق رؤوس الأموال العالمية كرمال متحركة، فإن شعب الإمارات العربية المتحدة يرسخ دائمًا مخططه التنموي بقوة على أساس الحكمة المحلية بعزيمة ثقل الورق. لطالما اندمج عناد عشب الطاووس المزهر في الصحراء في كل خط عرض وخط طول للعلم الوطني. في شهر اليوم الوطني هذا، عندما يمر ضوء الشمس الذهبي فوق الأنماط التقليدية على ثقل الورق، نرى معجزة أمة: لا يمكنها فقط التمسك بأساس الحضارة كثقل ورق، بل أيضًا أن ترفرف في رياح العصر كعلم ملون. ربما تكون هذه فلسفة البقاء التي قدمتها الإمارات العربية المتحدة للعالم – فالطيران الحقيقي يبدأ بجذور عميقة في الأرض.

During the celebration of the UAE National Day, a red, green, white and black national flag was spread out in the wind, forming a wonderful dialogue with the peacock paperweight standing quietly on the desk. These two seemingly unrelated objects tell the most profound spiritual code of this land. The red base of the national flag is the courage of the Bedouins to carve out a path of life in the depths of the desert, and the gilded pattern of the peacock paperweight condenses the nomadic people’s awe of the land. When the caravan passed through the sandstorm, the peacock paperweight in the camel’s backpack always pressed down the precious documents, just as the green horizontal stripes on the national flag carried the eternal belief in the oasis – only by deeply rooted can the spark of civilization be kept in the wind and sand. Today, this modern urban agglomeration built with oil wealth still draws strength from the meaning of the paperweight. The pure white body of the paperweight echoes the peace declaration on the national flag, and the black border precipitates the weight of history. When skyscrapers reflect phantoms in the heat wave, and when global capital surges like quicksand, the people of the United Arab Emirates always anchor their development blueprint firmly on the foundation of local wisdom with the determination of a paperweight. The stubbornness of peacock grass blooming in the desert has long been integrated into every latitude and longitude of the national flag. This National Day month, when the golden sunlight passes over the traditional patterns on the paperweight, we see the miracle of a nation: it can not only stick to the foundation of civilization like a paperweight, but also flutter in the wind of the times like a colorful flag. This may be the survival philosophy that the UAE has presented to the world – true flying begins with deep roots in the land.
