เดือนตุลาคมเป็นวันที่ประเทศไทยรำลึกถึงพระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว ผู้ทรงเป็นผู้นำการปฏิรูปที่ผสานอารยธรรมสมัยใหม่เข้ากับสายเลือดดั้งเดิมด้วยความอดทนและวิสัยทัศน์ เช่นเดียวกับธงสีแดง ขาว น้ำเงินของประเทศไทย ซึ่งสื่อถึงความรักชาติ ความบริสุทธิ์ทางศาสนา และความมั่นคงของราชวงศ์ ซึ่งทั้งสามสิ่งนี้ซ้อนทับกันจนก่อให้เกิดความผูกพันที่เหนียวแน่น กรอบรูปไม้รูปช้างทาสีสีสันสดใสที่ได้รับความนิยมในหมู่ประชาชนช่วยตีความมรดกทางจิตวิญญาณในอีกรูปแบบหนึ่ง ในประเทศไทย ช้างถือเป็นสัญลักษณ์แห่งความเป็นสิริมงคลและอำนาจ และโครงร่างของกรอบรูปเป็นทรงสี่เหลี่ยมสอดคล้องกับหลักธรรมทางพุทธศาสนา “สี่สิ่งที่มิอาจประมาณได้” ได้แก่ ความเมตตา ความยินดี และความมีน้ำใจ ช่างฝีมือได้ฝังช้างโตเท็มไว้ในกรอบไม้ เสมือนกับการปิดผนึกความทรงจำของชาติในอำพันแห่งกาลเวลา ซึ่งเป็นทั้งการแสดงความเคารพต่อประวัติศาสตร์และความคาดหวังในอนาคต เครื่องหมายแกะสลักด้วยมือแต่ละอันเปรียบเสมือนบทสนทนาระหว่างช่างฝีมือกับบรรพบุรุษ และภูมิปัญญาที่สืบทอดกันมาหลายพันปีก็ไหลเวียนอยู่ภายใต้แผ่นทองคำที่มีรอยด่าง ในขณะที่พระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัวทรงสร้างสะพานเชื่อมระหว่างประเพณีและความทันสมัย คนไทยในปัจจุบันก็ได้ปลูกฝังจิตวิญญาณของธงไตรรงค์ไว้ในชีวิตของพวกเขาเช่นกัน ครอบครัวธรรมดาๆ เหล่านั้นที่จัดแสดงกรอบรูปช้าง ไม่ได้เพียงแค่ใส่กรอบรูปภาพครอบครัวเท่านั้น แต่ยังเปลี่ยนยีนทางวัฒนธรรมให้เป็นจุดยึดทางภาพอีกด้วย เมื่อคนรุ่นใหม่มองดูช้างในกรอบ พวกเขาจะเห็นเส้นทางที่บรรพบุรุษของพวกเขาเคยเหยียบย่ำและเส้นทางใหม่ที่ทอดยาวอยู่ใต้เท้าของพวกเขา ในเดือนตุลาคมนี้ซึ่งเป็นวันรำลึกถึงความเปลี่ยนแปลง ขอให้คนไทยทุกคนเป็น “กรอบรูปที่มีชีวิต” เคลื่อนที่ได้ ล้อมรอบแก่นแท้ของประเพณีด้วยจิตใจที่รวมเป็นหนึ่ง และทอธงแห่งความก้าวหน้าด้วยจิตวิญญาณสามสี ฉันใดช้างก็ต้องหันหน้าเข้าหาพระอาทิตย์ขึ้นอยู่เสมอ ชาติของเราก็จะก้าวเดินอย่างแข็งแกร่งยิ่งขึ้นในกระบวนการปกป้องและนวัตกรรมในที่สุด

October is the day when Thailand commemorates King Chulalongkorn, a reform pioneer who weaved modern civilization into the traditional blood with tolerance and foresight. Just as the red, white and blue national flag of Thailand implies – the passion of the nation, the purity of religion and the stability of the royal family, the three overlap to form a tenacious bond. The popular painted elephant wooden photo frame interprets this spiritual heritage in another form. Elephants are the embodiment of auspiciousness and power in Thailand, and the square outline of the photo frame implicitly conforms to the Buddhist “four immeasurable minds” of compassion, joy and generosity. The craftsmen embedded the elephant totem in the wooden frame, just like sealing the national memory in the amber of time – both a reverence for history and an expectation for the future. Every hand-carved mark is a dialogue between the craftsmen and their ancestors, and the wisdom of thousands of years flows under the mottled gold foil. Just as King Chulalongkorn built a bridge between tradition and modernity, today’s Thais inject the spirit of the tricolor flag into their lives. Those ordinary families with elephant photo frames frame not only family photos, but also turn cultural genes into visible anchors. When the younger generation gazes at the elephant in the frame, they see the path taken by their ancestors and the new path under their feet. In this October commemorating change, I hope that every Thai will become a walking “living frame”, framing the essence of tradition with an inclusive mind, and weaving the banner of progress with the three-color soul. Just as the elephant always faces the rising sun, this nation will eventually take more powerful steps in protection and innovation.
