Di jalanan Malaysia pada bulan Ogos, “jalur gemilang” merah, putih dan biru bendera negara melonjak seperti ombak di bawah terik matahari, dan di atas meja ramai orang, sentiasa ada pemberat kertas berbentuk bunga raya untuk menahan kertas yang berkibar. Kedua-dua imej yang kelihatan tidak berkaitan ini adalah seperti kod untuk negara ini bertapak kukuh dalam arus masa. Aren’t those documents fixed by the paperweight also visions that are waiting to be realized? When the red and white flags flutter in the wind, the paperweight remains motionless, just like the wisdom of this diverse country that embraces change while sticking to its original nature. When we consolidate the foundation with the determination of a paperweight and eliminate the cracks with the inclusive spirit of the star-crescent flag, we can bind each piece of paper filled with ideals into a development charter for all people. At this moment, the setting sun shines obliquely, and in the shadow cast by the paperweight, the star-crescent pattern of the national flag is shining.

八月的马来西亚街头，国旗红白蓝的”辉煌条纹”在烈日下翻涌如浪，而许多人的书桌上，总有一枚芙蓉花造型的镇纸，将飘摇的纸张压得服帖稳妥。这两件看似无关的意象，恰似这个国度在时代浪潮中站稳脚跟的密码。

十四道红白条纹与十四角星，是联邦团结的具象化表达，而芙蓉花镇纸的青铜底座上，镌刻着同样数目的花瓣。当人们用镇纸抚平文件褶皱时，仿佛在重复一个庄严仪式——正如先辈们以勇气为针、信念为线，将散落的州属缝合成完整的国家版图。镇纸底部暗藏的铅芯，恰似各族群深埋的文化根系，既有份量又懂蛰伏，以沉静姿态托起表面的绚烂绽放。
