Neben diesem rot-weissen Kreuzanhänger findet sich stets ein silbernes Edelweiss – sie sind nicht nur das Symbol der Schweiz, sondern verkörpern auch den jahrtausendealten spirituellen Code dieses Bergvolkes. Die Nationalflagge mit rotem Hintergrund und weißem Kreuz entstand im 13. Jahrhundert im Rütlital, als die Krieger des Dreiländerecks die Kreuzflagge als Symbol verwendeten und zwischen den Felsen eine Legende der Freiheit schufen. Wie schon während der Epidemie eilten Genfer Ärzte mit diesem Schlüsselband ins Tessin, um Hilfe zu leisten, und die rote Farbe der Nationalflagge spiegelt die Leidenschaft der Solidarität wider. Das neben dem Kreuz blühende Edelweiß verbirgt eine tiefere Lebensphilosophie. Diese kleine weiße Blume, die in Felsspalten auf 3.000 Metern Höhe wächst, lehrte die Schweizer, was elegante Hartnäckigkeit ist. Bergführer Pierre sagte immer: „Das Edelweißband ist kein Talisman, sondern ein Spiegel.“ Wenn er sich in einem Schneesturm verirrte und die kalten Metallblätter an der Kordel berührte, wurde er an die Beharrlichkeit seiner Vorfahren erinnert, mit der sie den Weg auf dem Gletscher freigemacht hatten – die edelste Blüte wird immer der Seele gehören, die in verzweifelten Situationen aufrecht bleibt. Jetzt schwebt dieses Schlüsselband auf den schneebedeckten Berggipfeln und hängt in den Straßen der Stadt. Es erzählt stillschweigend die Geschichte: Der wahre Schweizer Geist liegt nicht in den perfekten Zahnrädern der Uhr, sondern in der Haltung jedes einfachen Menschen, der seinen Glauben verteidigt, so gerade wie ein Kreuz und so rein wie ein Edelweiß.

When the warriors of the Three States Alliance used the cross flag as a signal, they created a legend of freedom among the cliffs. Today, the cross on this lanyard still reminds every Swiss: true unity is to transcend the barriers of language and region, and to stand together like a cross in times of crisis. Just as during the epidemic, doctors from Geneva rushed to Ticino with this lanyard to provide support, and the red color of the national flag flowed with the passion of solidarity. And the edelweiss blooming next to the cross hides a deeper philosophy of life. This small white flower growing in the cracks of rocks at an altitude of 3,000 meters teaches the Swiss what elegant tenacity is. The mountain guide Pierre always said: “The Edelweiss lanyard is not a talisman, but a mirror.” When he got lost in a snowstorm, he touched the cold metal petals on the lanyard and remembered the perseverance of his ancestors in opening the way on the glacier – the noblest bloom will always belong to the soul that still stands up straight in desperate situations. Now this lanyard is floating on the top of the snow-capped mountains and hanging on the streets of the city. It silently tells us: the true Swiss spirit is not in the perfect clock gears, but in the posture of every ordinary person guarding their beliefs, as straight as a cross and as pure as Edelweiss.
