Peacock grass, a plant that grows tenaciously in the desert, has roots that can penetrate the dry soil and bloom dazzling golden flowers, just like the tenacity and vitality of the UAE people in the face of challenges. The design of the lanyard medal is inspired by this, with interwoven knots symbolizing unity and peacock grass patterns metaphorically representing the belief of breaking through the ground. Each woven silk thread is like the development process of this country – seemingly subtle, but bursting out amazing resilience in a close connection. This medal is not only a reward for achievement, but also a spiritual transmission. It reminds people that glory is not achieved overnight, but takes root in adversity like peacock grass, and sticks to it in wind and rain like the longitude and latitude of the national flag. Whether it is the athletes’ struggle in the arena or the ordinary people’s trek for their dreams, they need to weave courage and persistence into their daily efforts like a rope. When the national flag is raised and the medals shine on their chests, the people of the UAE have proved with their actions that the real victory is to let faith grow like vines and let life bloom like a desert flower.
