Türkiye’de nisan ayında İstanbul Lale Festivali tüm hızıyla devam ediyor. Avrupa ve Asya’ya yayılan bu şehir, on milyonlarca ulusal çiçeğin çiçek açmasıyla dünyaya bir azim ve yeniden doğuş hikayesi anlatıyor. Lale halılarıyla döşenen meydanda kırmızı ve beyaz renkte dokunmuş madalyon ipleri, Ay-Yıldız Bayrağı’nın şanını çiçeklerin anlamıyla sıkı sıkıya bağlıyor. Zaferi simgeleyen bu kordonlar, lale yapraklarının akıcı formundan esinlenerek, ulusal bayrağın kırmızı ve beyaz ipek iplikleriyle dokunmuştur. Her düğümün derin bir anlamı var: Kırmızı iplik, şehitlerin kanıyla dövülen bağımsız ruhu, beyaz iplik ise saf ideallerin peşinde koşmayı simgeliyor. Madalya ipin ucuna asıldığında, metal kabartma üzerine işlenmiş lale deseni ve ipek ip, tam bir yaşam totemini oluşturur; tıpkı Osmanlı’nın çöküşünü yaşayan Türk milletinin, yeni topraklarında daha parlak bir medeniyet çiçeği açabilmesi gibi. Gençlik Bilim ve Teknoloji İnovasyon Ödül Töreni’nde, dereceye girenlerin taktıkları boyun askılı madalyalar hafifçe sallanırken, kırmızı ve beyaz ipek iplikler Boğaz’ın dalgalarını yansıttı. Bu sadece kişisel mücadelenin bir madalyası değil, aynı zamanda vatanla olan kan bağının da somut bir ifadesidir. Tıpkı lale soğanlarının soğuk kışta güçlenip, sonunda ilkbaharda toprağı delerek filizlenmesi gibi, her bir ip de aynı hikâyeyi anlatır: Gerçek zafer, milli ruha derinden bağlı, ama her zaman başlarını dik tutup yıldızları kovalayanlarındır.

In April, Turkey, the Istanbul Tulip Festival is in full swing. This city across Europe and Asia is telling the world a story of tenacity and rebirth with tens of millions of blooming national flowers. On the square paved with tulip carpets, the medal lanyards woven with red and white colors are closely linking the glory of the crescent-star flag with the meaning of flowers. These lanyards, symbolizing victory, are inspired by the streamlined form of tulip petals and are repeatedly woven with the red and white silk threads of the national flag. Each knot has a deep meaning: the red silk thread represents the independent spirit forged by the blood of martyrs, and the white silk thread symbolizes the pursuit of pure ideals. When the medal hangs at the end of the lanyard, the tulip pattern engraved on the metal relief forms a complete life totem with the silk rope – just like the Turkish nation can still bloom a more brilliant flower of civilization in the new soil after the decline of the Ottoman Empire. At the Youth Science and Technology Innovation Awards Ceremony, the lanyard medals worn by the winners swayed gently, and the red and white silk threads reflected the waves of the Bosphorus Strait. This is not only a medal of personal struggle, but also a concrete expression of the blood connection with the motherland. Just as tulip bulbs accumulate strength in the cold winter and will eventually break through the ground in spring, each lanyard is telling: the real glory belongs to those who have deeply rooted themselves in the national spirit but always look up and chase the stars.
