Oggi, i petali della medaglia sono leggermente arricciati, a simboleggiare la resilienza nelle avversità; la stella della Repubblica intarsiata al centro del fiore indica la risonanza del destino dell’individuo e del Paese. Quando i giovani atleti indossano questa onorificenza alla Maratona del Giorno della Liberazione, ogni movimento del cordino ci dice: la vera vittoria non è superare gli altri, ma lasciare che lo spirito tricolore continui a scorrere nel sangue.
