When the July sea breeze swept across the canal, this nation that used paperweights to suppress fantasies was celebrating the passion of life with an orange carnival. Perhaps we all need such a “spiritual paperweight” – with the determination to face the wind and waves, and the edge to break through the ground and bloom. After all, a properly guarded dream will eventually stand like a tulip and flutter like a tricolor flag.
