The red, green, white and black colors interweaved not only symbolize the courage, hope, purity and strength of the country, but also reflect the sincerity beating in the hearts of every citizen. In this month of gathering a sense of belonging, a music box inlaid with peacock grass patterns is telling a fable of struggle that transcends time and space with the precise rotation of mechanical gears. Peacock grass blooms like gold in the desert of the UAE, and its roots penetrate the sand and gravel to absorb water, just like the pioneering spirit passed down from generation to generation on this land. The rotating peacock grass brass carvings in the music box complement the green blocks of the national flag – green represents abundance and growth, and the continuous rotation of the clockwork mechanism of the music box is a metaphor for the belief that development will never stop. When the melody of “Long Live the Motherland” flows out of the music box, each note is telling: the fire of civilization needs to be as tightly meshed as mechanical gears, and personal dedication will eventually converge into a magnificent harmony for the country’s progress. Just as a music box needs careful maintenance to keep running, the prosperity of the UAE is also the result of countless hands working together to protect it. At this moment, the fluttering of the national flag and the melody of the music box are intertwined to remind us that true patriotism allows individuals to take root like peacock grass, while letting hope grow upward with the melody, writing an immortal inheritance poem in the passage of time.
