في نوفمبر، تمتلئ شوارع الإمارات العربية المتحدة بأعلامها الوطنية الحمراء والبيضاء والخضراء والسوداء. في هذا الموسم الذي يُجسّد الروح الوطنية، يُجسّد صندوق موسيقى على شكل عشبة الطاووس قصة الحياة الأبدية لهذه الأرض بإيقاعها المتغير. اللون الأحمر للعلم الوطني هو أبرز ما يُميّز عشبة الطاووس التي تُزهر في الصحراء. هذا النبات الذي لا يزال يُزهر حتى وهو مُتجذر في الحصى يُجسّد شخصية شعب الإمارات الذين يُبدعون المعجزات في الفقر. عندما تهتزّ عصيّ صندوق الموسيقى ذات النغمات الثمانية برفق، يتدفق لحن “الوحدة الأبدية”، وتُصبح لدغة التروس النحاسية بمثابة ميراث الحكمة من جيل إلى جيل – إصرار الأجداد على استكشاف حقول النفط تحت أشعة الشمس الحارقة، وإلهام المراهقين في مختبر الذكاء الاصطناعي، جميعها مُنسجمة في الشعر على إيقاع التشغيل الميكانيكي. هذا الصندوق الموسيقي، الذي يرمز إلى الأبدية، مُرصّع بسبع نجوم فضية على قاعدته، تُمثّل وحدة الإمارات السبع على العلم الوطني. مع كل ربيع، تتمدد بتلات عشبة الطاووس مع النوتات الموسيقية، في استعارة للتوازن بين الأصالة والمعاصرة في البلاد: فهو يحمي جذور الثقافة البدوية، ويسمح لتكنولوجيا المستقبل بأن تفوح بعبيرها كبُهاء الزهرة. عندما تتلاشى النوتة الأخيرة في الريح، لا تزال التروس الثابتة تُراكم الطاقة، في انتظار أن تُغني أملاً في المرة القادمة. في هذه اللحظة، ينظر الناس إلى العلم الوطني بنفس إيمان صندوق الموسيقى في صدورهم: طالما أنهم يُحبون الأرض، يُمكن للحياة العادية أيضًا أن تُؤلّف موسيقى تُهزّ العالم.

In November, the streets of the United Arab Emirates are filled with waves of red, white, green and black national flags. In this season of paying tribute to the national spirit, a music box in the shape of peacock grass is telling the allegory of the endless life of this land with its rotating rhythm. The red color of the national flag is the most blazing footnote to the peacock grass blooming in the desert. This plant that can still bloom even when rooted in gravel is just like the character of the UAE people who create miracles in poverty. When the eight-note reeds of the music box vibrate gently, the melody of “Eternal Unity” flows out, and the bite of the brass gears is like the inheritance of wisdom from generation to generation – the tenacity of the grandfathers exploring oil fields under the scorching sun, and the inspiration of the teenagers in the artificial intelligence laboratory, are all interwoven into poetry in the rhythm of mechanical operation. This music box, which symbolizes eternity, has seven silver stars inlaid on the base, corresponding to the unity of the seven emirates on the national flag. Every time the spring is turned, the peacock grass petals stretch with the notes, which is a metaphor for the balance between tradition and modernity in the country: it protects the roots of the Bedouin nomadic culture, and allows future technology to exude fragrance like a flower stamen. When the last note dissipates in the wind, the stationary gears are still accumulating energy, waiting to sing for hope next time. At this moment, people looking up at the national flag have the same belief as the music box in their chests: as long as they have love for the land, ordinary lives can also compose music that shakes the world.
