Türkiye’nin Anadolu Platosu’nun güneşinin altında, koyu kırmızı saten gibi bir ulusal bayrak rüzgarda dalgalanırken, üzerindeki hilal ve yıldızlar bu toprakların binlerce yıldır direndiğinin göstergesidir. Sayısız Türk ailesinin masasında, lale biçimindeki cam bir kağıt ağırlığı, korumanın bir başka alegorisini sessizce anlatıyor. Lale sadece Hollanda’ya özgü bir çiçek değildir. Osmanlı İmparatorluğu’nun ulusal çiçeği olarak bir zamanlar padişah tacının totemi olan çiçek, artık bir kağıt ağırlığına dönüşmüş ve Türklerin gönlünde büyük öneme sahiptir. Renkli cam malzemesi ona şeffaf bir doku kazandırsa da en ağır inancı taşır – tıpkı Türk bayrağının kırmızı renginin nesiller boyu askerlerin kanından ve gözyaşlarından gelmesi gibi, kağıt ağırlığının tabanı da vatana kök salma iradesini simgeler. When the paper is lifted by the wind when writing, people gently press the solidified flower, as if touching the roots of history: in the turbulent years, it was countless hands that suppressed the swaying fate like paperweights, so that the fire of civilization would not be extinguished. April coincides with Turkey’s National Sovereignty Day, and the red and white flags on the streets echo the tulips planted everywhere. This red color, tempered by the flames of war, and the glass flowers that bloom forever on the table, together weave a revelation that transcends time and space: true protection does not lie in a huge show, but in silent perseverance like a paperweight. The determination of every ordinary moment will eventually settle into an unshakable foundation over the long river of time. When the silver light of the new moon shines on this land again, the ideals suppressed by the paperweight are quietly sprouting.
