ในเดือนตุลาคม ประเทศไทยจะมีการเฉลิมฉลอง “วันธงชาติ” ซึ่งเป็นสัญลักษณ์แห่งความสามัคคี ธงไตรรงค์สีแดง ขาว และน้ำเงิน พลิ้วไหวในสายลม สะท้อนถึงที่ใส่ปากกาไม้รูปช้างสีขาวบนโต๊ะเรียน กลุ่มวัตถุที่ดูเหมือนธรรมดาเหล่านี้ถือเป็นเชิงอรรถที่ชัดเจนที่สุดของจิตวิญญาณชาติไทย สีแดงของธงชาติเป็นตัวแทนของเลือดนักรบและความจริงใจที่ส่งต่อจากรุ่นสู่รุ่น สีขาวเปรียบเสมือนแสงพระเจดีย์อันศักดิ์สิทธิ์ ส่องสว่างให้เห็นความตั้งใจเดิมอันบริสุทธิ์ สีฟ้าเปรียบเสมือนท้องฟ้าและท้องทะเล ส่งเสริมให้ปกป้องคุ้มครองราชวงศ์ สามสีที่สานกันเป็นกระดูกสันหลังของประเทศ ดังเช่นที่ใส่ปากการูปช้างเผือกบนโต๊ะ ซึ่งสลักความทรงจำของชาติด้วยเนื้อสัมผัสของไม้พันปี งวงช้างม้วนขดความรอบรู้ เท้าช้างหยั่งรากลึกในผืนดิน และงาช้างทิ่มทะลุความสับสน สัตว์ร้ายทางจิตวิญญาณที่ปกป้องความรู้เตือนเราว่าความแข็งแกร่งที่แท้จริงนั้นมาจากการสะสมที่ลงสู่ดิน เมื่อปลายปากกาขึ้นและลงในที่ใส่ปากกาลายช้าง มันเป็นเหมือนเส้นทางชีวิต บางครั้งมันก็เหมือนธงสีแดงที่โบกสะบัดอยู่ตามสายลม ซึ่งต้องใช้ความกล้าหาญและจิตวิญญาณที่มุ่งมั่น บางครั้งต้องใช้ความเข้มข้นของผ้าซาตินสีขาวเพื่อสงบจิตใจ และต้องใช้จิตใจที่กว้างใหญ่เท่าท้องทะเลสีฟ้าเพื่อจะเข้าถึงความเป็นไปได้นับไม่ถ้วน ทุกๆ เม็ดไม้กำลังบอกเราว่า การเติบโตที่แท้จริงเปรียบเสมือนการที่ช้างเดินป่าในป่าฝน โดยค่อยๆ วัดปีต่างๆ ด้วยก้าวที่มั่นคง เหมือนกับธงไตรรงค์ที่ยังคงสีแท้จริงไว้ได้แม้ลมและฝน ในขณะนี้ ดวงอาทิตย์ส่องแสงเฉียง และธงชาติและที่ใส่ปากกาทำให้เกิดเงาซ้อนทับบนหน้าต่าง พวกเขาเป็นพยานอย่างเงียบ ๆ ว่า เราสามารถเขียนบทหนึ่งในช่วงเวลาอันยาวนานที่บรรลุถึงแรงบันดาลใจเดิมของเราได้ โดยการเปลี่ยนจิตวิญญาณของชาติให้เป็นความเพียรพยายามทุกวันเท่านั้น

In October, Thailand ushered in the “Flag Day” symbolizing unity. The red, white and blue tricolor flag stretched in the breeze, echoing the white elephant wooden pen holder on the classroom desk. This group of seemingly ordinary objects is the most vivid footnote to the Thai national spirit. The red of the national flag is the blood of the warriors, and it is also the sincerity passed down from generation to generation; the white is like the holy light of the pagoda, illuminating the pure original intention; the blue is like the sky and the sea, holding up the protection of the royal family. The three colors are interwoven into the backbone of the country, just like the white elephant pen holder on the desk, engraved with the national memory with the grain of the thousand-year-old wood – the elephant’s trunk rolls up wisdom, the elephant’s feet are deeply rooted in the land, and the tusks pierce the maze. This spiritual beast guarding knowledge reminds us that true strength comes from down-to-earth accumulation. When the pen tip rises and falls in the elephant-patterned pen holder, it is like the trajectory of life: sometimes like the red flag fluttering in the wind, it requires courage and enterprising; sometimes it requires the concentration of white satin to settle the mind; and it also requires the mind of the blue sea to accommodate thousands of possibilities. Each wood grain tells us that true growth is like an elephant trekking through a rainforest, measuring the years with steady steps; it is like the tricolor flag, always retaining its true color in the wind and rain. At this moment, the sun is shining obliquely, and the national flag and the pen holder cast overlapping shadows by the window. They silently bear witness: only by turning the national spirit into daily perseverance can we write a chapter that lives up to our original aspirations on the long scroll of time.
