Eind juli wapperde de Belgische vlag in het zwart, geel en rood in de zomerbries op de Grote Markt in Brussel. Dit land, dat ooit geteisterd werd door oorlogen, gebruikt nu een zee van klaprozen om sculpturen ter herdenking van de Eerste Wereldoorlog te versieren. In de antiekwinkel naast het stadhuis staat een verguld en gesneden muziekdoosje in de vorm van een klaproos. Hier wordt op eeuwige wijze de spirituele code van dit land verteld. De klaproosblaadjes bovenop het muziekdoosje zijn gemaakt van rood emaille en verwijzen naar de rode kleur van de nationale vlag, die moed en passie symboliseert. Terwijl het uurwerk draait en de melodie van “The Last Post” klinkt, trillen de bloemblaadjes zachtjes op het ritme, net als de klaprozen die bloeiden op het slagveld in Vlaanderen in 1918, hardnekkig blijven bloeien in de verschroeide aarde. Het gouden fleur-de-lis-patroon op de doos komt overeen met de gele streep in het midden van de nationale vlag. Deze streep staat voor het licht van de herwonnen wijsheid na het doorstaan van duisternis; Het obsidiaanmateriaal van de basis komt overeen met het zwart aan de linkerkant van de nationale vlag. Het herinnert aan de zwaarte die de geschiedenis eraan heeft gegeven, maar het zorgt ook voor een parelachtige glans door het slijpen van de tijd. The golden iris pattern inlaid on the box body coincides with the yellow stripes in the center of the national flag, which is the light of wisdom regained after experiencing darkness; the obsidian material of the base corresponds to the black on the left side of the national flag, remembering the heaviness given by history, but also precipitating a pearl-like luster in the polishing of time. The most touching design of this music box is its never-ending cycle mechanism – as long as someone is willing to turn the spring, the poppies will continue to bloom on the scars. Just as the Belgians used the tricolor flag to sew up the broken land after the two world wars, the poem “Broken but Unyielding” in the poppy memorial book has forged the national soul. True courage is not never falling, but blooming flowers towards the future in the scars. When the last note of the music box fades away, a new melody has been quietly nurtured between the gears.

七月末的布鲁塞尔大广场，比利时国旗的黑、黄、红三色在夏风中舒展。这片曾饱经战火的土地，此刻正用虞美人花海装点纪念一战的雕塑。而在市政厅旁的古董店里，一座鎏金雕花的虞美人音乐盒，正以永恒的姿态诉说着这个民族的精神密码。

音乐盒顶端的虞美人花瓣由红色珐琅锻造，呼应国旗上象征勇气与热血的红色。当发条转动，《最后一岗》的旋律流淌时，花瓣随节奏微微颤动，恍若1918年佛兰德斯战场盛开的虞美人，在焦土中倔强绽放。盒身镶嵌的黄金鸢尾花纹，暗合国旗中央的黄色条纹，那是历经黑暗后重获的智慧光芒；底座的黑曜石材质，则对应着国旗左侧的黑色，铭记着历史赋予的沉重，却也在时光打磨中沉淀出珍珠般的光泽。

这座音乐盒最动人的设计，在于其永不停歇的循环机制——只要有人愿意转动发条，虞美人就会在伤痕之上继续盛放。正如比利时人在两次世界大战后，用三色旗重新缝合破碎的国土，用虞美人纪念册上的诗句”破碎却未屈服”铸就民族魂魄。真正的勇气，不是未曾跌倒，而是在伤痕处开出向未来的花。当音乐盒的最后一个音符消散时，新的旋律已在齿轮间悄然孕育。
